The goal was simple: to enhance the functionality of the units and amplify the natural beauty of the asset. Although well-maintained, the 2001 vintage building was beginning to show signs of age. Mark CarterPresident and CEO, General Partner of Affiliated PartnershipsMark Carter is President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of Sequoia Equities, Inc. (SEI). He is a founder of SEI and is a principal and general partner of numerous affiliated companies and partnerships. Mr. Carter is responsible for overseeing all investment and asset management decisions for SEI and related affiliates.

Mr. Carter joined SEI’s predecessor, Kroger Kraemer Brohaugh, Inc. in 1986 and became a founding principal of SEI at its incorporation in 1988. Since joining the company, Mr. Carter has been involved in the acquisition, management, and disposition of more than $3 billion in real estate assets. Mr. Carter began his career in real estate in 1979 at Marcus & Milichap and then became Senior Acquisition Manager for Prometheus Development. Mr. Carter is a registered representative with the National Association of Securities Dealers and a graduate of University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Economics.

R. Ken CoitPresident/Broker Dealer, General Partner of Affiliated Partnerships R. Ken Coit, is a Certified Financial Planner and the President and registered principal of Sequoia Equities Securities Corporation. Mr. Coit has been involved in the investment and tax planning field since 1971. Mr. Coit is responsible for private fund raising for Sequoia sponsored offerings.

He serves on the National Advisory Board for the College of Pharmacy, at the University of Arizona and he funded at chair at the College of Pharmacy in 2011. Mr. Coit is a registered principal of FINRA and has served as President and Board Member of the East Bay Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning. Additionally, he serves on the Summit Bank Charitable Foundation Board. Mr. Coit has published articles on investment and tax strategies.

Mr. Coit has been involved in real estate syndication and capital raising since the 1970’s. Prior to his association with Sequoia Equities, he served as co-general partner of four real estate partnerships, including two agricultural partnerships that have completed operation, and two non-load mutual fund partnerships.

Pat ReillyDirector of Acquisitions, General Partner of Affiliated PartnershipsMr. Reilly has been buying institutional quality multifamily property for 25 years in markets that include Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. He has helped acquire over $4 Billion of multifamily assets on behalf of clients through direct acquisitions, presales and joint ventures. Prior to joining Sequoia Equities in 2004, Mr. Reilly was the founding partner of Capital Realty Advisors (CRA), an apartment acquisition advisor that specialized in the acquisition of multifamily investments for corporate pension funds and private corporate investors.

Mr. Reilly was one of the original partners in MacFarlane Realty Advisors in 1993. He was in charge of multifamily acquisitions nationally. Since 2004, Mr. Reilly has been a partner with Sequoia Equities in charge of acquisitions, dispositions and market due diligence. Mr. Reilly is a graduate of California State University Chico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing.
