First of all, all that stress means is that there exists a disequilibrium, a state that is not sustainable over time. Sounds like normal life to me. For instance, let’s say a person has intimacy zone stress, does that mean they are headed for a terrible divorce? Not necessarily. Again, all it means is that there exists a disequilibrium, something needs to change. Have you ever experienced such a condition in your intimate affairs? What person hasn’t? “We need to talk, dear.” Argh! Maybe it is a big deal. How do you know until you talk things out? And how would you know from looking at someone’s hands if it is a big deal you are looking at? For one, if the Divorce Line is so deep and strong that it is the first thing you saw when your client opened their palms for inspection, and the Heart Line has two bubbles under Mercury, which is low set and… You get the idea. There is context to consider and the Attack Line is one part of a larger context. Secondly, looking at the hands, are there are group of Attack Lines that seem to have an overall focus on one destination? Several Attack Lines of the same type are stronger than a single one.

Attack Lines (Opportunity Lines, Challenge Lines) Reference notes by Richard Unger Hand prints: 2111-R, 539-R, 1858-R, 2146-R, 2206-R, 8022-L 12,014-L, 6043-L, 3147-R, 4523-R, 7166-R, 202-R 1764-R, 233-R

Once I realized that the lines crossing the hand were all of the same type following the same set of rules, hand reading suddenly got a lot easier. In one fell swoop, the palm no longer looked like a bunch of hodge-podge scribbles. It now resembled a road map: sometimes complicated, sometimes simple, but a discernable map to the owner’s inner world nonetheless. And having a map can be a life changer, especially if one is lost. First Rule: The lines running across the palm are stress indicators Birla, hand reader from Montreal, calls them resistance to life (nicely put) I see them as no’s, head goes east west, as opposed to yes’s, head goes north south Second Rule: Destination tells the story Now that I knew the rules I could look at hands differently. Oh my God – everybody is filled with stress indicators up the wazoo. We’re all doomed. Take a breath, Richard. It is no big deal. So stress is common. Duh.

Third: is it an Earth Hand with hardly any discernable lines? If so, a clear Attack Line carries extra significance Compare that to a Fire Hand with a gazillion lines all over the place. How could there not be Attack Lines on that palm? Fourth, does the Attack Line seem to impact other lines as it crosses the hand? Does it break the Life Line and stop the Fate Line? That sounds like an important line to me. Finally, in most cases you have your client right there to talk to. “Mr. Smith, I have this stress indicator I would like to discuss with you. It has no timing mechanism attached so I cannot tell if the stress it represents is current or twenty years ago. It pertains to …”

Questions and Answers: Attack Lines

2111-R: Saturn Attack: The Abyss Line Benham’s Laws of Scientific Hand Reading has a graphic photo of a famous suicide with this line. Most owners are not that far over the edge. Yes, they can feel as if they are falling into an abyss with no end in sight. But many people with the Abyss Line are doing just fine, their dark period well behind them. Michael and a Doubled LL makes you wonder what is so troubling. Fingerprints:

539-R: Saturn Attack: The Abyss Line Sometimes, Attack Lines get lost in all the noise of the palm – not here. 539 has an earthy hand with not that many lines. The clear Abyss Line carries extra significance. The chance is high that 539 is dealing with a double dose of trouble: Abyss Line upset and Line of Clairvoyance penalty (Disillusionment, Lost in the Station). Short Jupiter doesn’t help. 1858-R: Apollo Attack: Tomato Fear Saturn Attack Lines represent serious introspection leading to dark thoughts. Can owners break out of the downward spiral and gain a form of existential ease? Apollo Attack Lines represent the fear of others’ negative opinions (tomatoes). Can owners gain a self-approval surplus sufficient to allow the risk of being seen? Fingerprints:

2146-R: Apollo Attack: Tomato Fear 1858 has a Low Set Apollo to go with his Tomato Line. That could possibly explain the Persona Line north of the Heart Line. 2146’s Tomato Line is stronger under Apollo than it is closer to the thumb – not that unusual for an Attack Line. Add in an Empowering Employment LL plus a strong Jupiter finger and dealing constructively with criticism becomes a key part of any career path selected. Fingerprints:

2206-R: Mercury Attack: Intimacy Issues Mercury Attack Lines are usually about intimacy issues, but not always. Other Mercury issues (speaking up, for instance) are also on the menu of options. Here, with the Mercury finger so low set, intimacy issues is clearly the number one choice. With a Fate Line this strong, especially the way it seems to impede the Heart Line, odds are high that work trumps relationship. Mercury LP is very interesting:

8022-L: Mercury Attack: Intimacy Issues 8022 has two Attack Lines going to the Mercury finger: one breaks the Heart Line as it goes through Intimacy Point, the other could be an Apollo Attack Line (it does form part of a strange Apollo Star). With the severely shrunken Lower Zone of Mercury and the messy condition of the Heart Line just below, intimacy issues are certainly indicated. But maybe learning to speak up is part of it as well. Fingerprints:

12,014-L: Intimacy Point Attack Mercury Attack Lines may usually be about intimacy issues but Intimacy Point Attacks always are. Old palmistry books labeled it The Divorce Line. Comparing this title to the lives of its owners, some matched, plenty did not. Whether or not a person is even married in the first place, this line is absolutely about stress in the relationship arena.

Fingerprints:

6043-L: Intimacy Point Attack Divorce Lines are fairly common but 12,014’s is so eye-catching it has to come into your reading. What problems could an Earthy Donna have? 6043’s Divorce Line goes all the way back to the Throat Chakra. What can that mean? Add the Grand Gesture into your story as well. The right hand has a Donna Heart Line but this hand is more difficult to type - Clint with a Donna branch? Classic “Live My Passions” fingerprints highlights emotional issues:

3147-R: Pluto Attack: The Zindler Line

Standard Zindler Line: thwarted power, unused independence of action

Does The Z include some Pluto energy? Some do, some don’t. 3147’s does.

There are four Attack lines here, not an uncommon occurrence; which is strongest? Zindler / Divorce Line tie for first place

Relationship Issues → Anger Love life botches up everything for 3147

Right Jupiter has mini-TA embedded in it:

4523-R: Pluto Attack: The Zindler Line This Zindler goes all the way back to the Throat Chakra: what does 4523 want to say and to whom does he want to say it? Considering the LL, this is more than a simple question; it is essential. 4523 needs to speak out to if he is to escape his prison. The In-A-Box and small thumb add to the impression of someone who feels trapped. Fingerprints:

7166-R: Fate Line Attack: Career Issues Fate Line Attacks are the least common of this group of lines. Here, the Fate Line seems hampered by a half dozen little gossamer strings, like Gulliver tied up by the Lilliputians. Makes one wonder whether the Lines of Genius are in use or is 7166 in penalty. Fingerprints:

202-R: Fate Line Attack: Career Issues Several Attack Lines are visible on 202’s hand, but the bite out of Venus and the short thumb seem more important. In fact, the thumb is so weak it seems to be attached to a helium balloon because the entire hand is rotating upwards. 202’s Fate Line Attack seems the least of his troubles. His tall Jupiter is probably very frustrated.

1764-R: Moon Attack: Need For Meaning Earthy with a strong Fate Line, 1764 looks like the least likely candidate to complain about a lack of meaning. Isn’t living a good life, being a nice guy and paying your bills on time more than enough? What more could a person want? I guess this person wants more meaning. Ideas? Pluto Grille and Healer Lines point the way Fingerprints:

233-R: Moon Attack: Need For Meaning 233’s Moon Attack Line seems stitched in, like the proverbial dotted line one is supposed to sign upon – this is common. So…disillusioned, lost in the station, 233 is in need of more meaning in life. Ideas? How about using that Persephone Line? Super weak thumb is no help at all. Lone Tree individualism won’t come easy:
