NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL
This week will be my last full week at Commercial Road Primary. As off Monday 24th October I will based at Morwell Primary on Mondays and Tuesdays and Tobruk Street on Thursdays and Fridays. I will be dropping in at Commercial Road on Wednesdays.
Cathy Hardy will be in charge at Commercial Road Primary until an internal Acting Princi-pal is appointed, with Penny Solomon supporting.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to work at Commercial Road Primary for the last 12 years and will miss being here each day. I look forward to working alongside you all again next year.
SCHOOL CLOSURE TERM 4
Our Term 4 School Closure will be on Thursday 17th November. Staff from the three merg-ing schools will work with consultant Tom Brunzell from Berry Street Educational Program on developing processes and procedures for managing student behaviour. No students will be required at school on this day.
COMMERCIAL ROAD PRIMARY SCHOOL COUNCIL

All orders for Book Club are due back by Wednesday 19th October.
BOOK CLUB
On Friday the 14th October, our school participated in a Walk For Water. The day’s purpose was to raise money for water filters for the remote schools in East Timor. The day was a huge success and everyone enjoyed themselves. The students walked laps of the oval ne-gotiating a few obstacles along the way. Thank you to everyone who donated or spon-sored, Andrew Mahar is very thankful for our efforts.

WALK FOR WATER
Our last Commercial Road’s Got Talent will take place on Monday, November 28 in the Multi-Purpose Room at 9:00am.
If your child would like to audition, and they have Music on Wednesdays, their audition will take place during their Music session on Wednesday the 2nd of November. Those students who are going to Sports Camp and would like to audition will need to negotiate another time with me.
If your child has Music on Tuesdays, their auditions will take place during recess on Thursday, November 3 and recess on Friday, November 4.
It is important that the students practice their item, know the words/steps/music and bring along every-thing they need. Costumes will be required. Please do not buy new clothes for this.
Some points to remember are:
All Prep to Grade 6 students are welcome to audition but it is not compulsory All items must be solos- no duets or groups The top 12 acts in the school will be chosen for the Grand Final Students may sing, dance or play an instrument or do a combination of these Some of the things the judges will be looking for are facial expressions, movement, good microphone
technique, tuneful voices and the X factor
Commercial Road’s Got Talent always proves that we have amazing talent in our school. We are really looking forward to seeing our students perform and giving it their all for our last competition as Commer-cial Road Primary.
Please see me if you have any questions.
