serve as subject matter experts, provide information on the latest research
based best practices, and coordinate efforts on four topics of national focus

■ Serves as the national subject matter expert and key
resource on telehealth technologies to deliver addiction
treatment and recovery services in frontier/rural areas
■ Prepares pre-service addiction treatment and/or
counseling students on using telehealth technologies
by developing and disseminating academic curricula for
infusion into existing courses
■ Creates national telehealth competencies and policy
recommendations, including national license portability, to
encourage the addiction treatment and recovery workforce
to adopt the use of telehealth services
■ Uses state-of-the-art culturally-relevant training and
technical assistance activities to help the frontier/rural
addiction treatment and recovery workforce implementtelehealth services

Natinal Hispanic an Latin ATTC■ Serves as the national subject matter expert and key
resource for the workforce that provides substance
abuse treatment and recovery support services to reduce
health disparities among Hispanic and Latino populations
■ Ensures Hispanic and Latino populations are seen as
key and given priority among stakeholders (e.g., SSAs,
local governments, addictions professionals, primary
care services, and mental health services)
■ Broadens the ATTCs scope on implementation practices
and system transformation focusing on effective and
cultural competent practices for Hispanics and Latinos
■ Develops and strengthens the skills and capabilities of the workforce that provides addictions treatment and
recovery support services to Hispanics and Latinos
■ Builds a collaborative relationship with other training,
TA centers, and technology transfer providers

■ Serves as the national subject matter expert and key
resource on the adoption of addiction treatment and
recovery services for American Indian and Alaska Native
clients with substance use disorders
■ Enhances the American Indian & Alaska Native
behavioral health workforce
■ Facilitates and promotes culturally legitimate evidence-
based treatment practices which address the unique needs
of American Indian & Alaska Native communities, including
adolescents, returning veterans, two-spirits, and women
■ Prepares the American Indian & Alaska Native behavioralhealth workforce for healthcare integration
■ Facilitates the development of Recovery Oriented Systems
of Care in American Indian and Alaska Native communities
■ Enhances communication and collaboration within the
American Indian & Alaska Native behavioral health
workforce and key stakeholders

SBIRT and works toward the consistent application of the
SBIRT model to ensure fdelity and sustainability
