Indigenous Utilities Regulation Inquiry
Information Request to:
Coastal First Nations – Great Bear Initiative (CFN-GBI)
Reference: CanGEA British Columbia Geothermal Resource Favourability Map
Topic: Developing an Indigenous-Owned Geothermal Utility
Evidence:
Source: https://www.cangea.ca/britishcolumbiageothermal.html
Request:
(a) CanGEA’s BC Provincial Geothermal Resource Map indicates that the several members
of the CFN-GBI are in an area of moderate-to-high geothermal potential – have any of
CFN-GBI’s members previously investigated their geothermal potential?
(b) Is the CFN-GBI aware of any regulatory barriers, that have been raised in this Inquiry, that
exist with regard to developing geothermal heat and/or electricity utilities in BC?
