The main character in our production is a 16-year-old girl. As our target audience was ages 16-24 the age of our character is something they would all be able to identify

with; they establish a connection with the protagonist as they can relate to her.

The main issue in our opening two minutes is conflict between the mother and daughter figure. The young people our film is aimed at are more than likely to be

familiar with this issue and are likely to have experienced something similar themselves. The audience are therefore able to connect with the storyline but are also

able to feel empathy towards the protagonist and begin to establish an emotional connection with her. They may also find similarities between the mother and their

own parents.

The young, British people our film is aimed at would be more than familiar with the council estate setting. Many of the people who would view it are likely to have lived on an estate similar to this (they come to see the film because they can identify with

the issues and the characters) or they are familiar with them and what they look like as there are many around Britain.

Once the target audience had committed to watching the film, the opening scene consists of extremely raised voices and some mild violence (pushing, shoving etc). This would draw the audience in and encourage them to watch the rest of the film.

The dramatic opening may seem shocking at first as the reason behind the violence is unknown, this also encourage the audience to carry on watching as they are curious to

find out the reasons behind what is going on.
