0 1/21/4 Mile Temporary Closure by June 1st.The Oakdale Bridge, northbound on Route 202, spansthe Little Androscoggin River in Auburn. MaineDOTwill be building a wider, safer replacement bridgeduring the 2014 construction season. In order tocomplete the majority of this $2.8 million constructionproject in one season, Route 202 northbound (alsoknown as Washington St. northbound) will be closedto through tra�c in the vicinity of the bridge. Instead,tra�c will be rerouted via Chasse St. and Philomar St.to Route 202 southbound (Washington St. south-bound) which will handle both northbound and south-bound through tra�c during the construction.
Though all work schedules are weather-dependent, itis expected that the bridge will close on June 1st andwill remain closed until November 15th. There will besome additional work done in the spring of 2015.
Please note that all businesses in the vicinity of the Oakdale Northbound Bridge will be open and accessible. The detour route is for through tra�c only.
We know this essential structural work may be inconvenientfor motorists. Please allow extra time or seek an alternate route.
And remember- please pay attention and obey reduced speedlimits when driving in work zones.
