DESCRIPTION

At 2:00pm we will start Section 3 with Queensland featuring the first selection from Ken Smithies' great postmark collection. This includes 80 lots of numerals (#823-902), 16 lots of his main collection (#903-18), 101 lots of datestamps (#925-1025), plus various RO manuscripts and TPO cancels. It will be a long time before a similar collection is put on the market again, so make the most of this rare opportunity. The rest of this section includes SA with a nice range of 1908 Scenic Postal Cards (#1040-8), Vic £100 with offset, unique? (#1099), 1896 commercial use of 2/- Stamp Duty to Argentina (#1125), WA 4d blue tilted border both unused & used (#1148-9), 1861 6d Proof block of 4 (#1166). A magnificent 1879 2d mauve error of colour mint (#1170).
