    Born in Big Rapids, Michigan, Robert Routley Sr. became interested in art at a young age. With limited access to art in school, he started toexperiment with drawing in his free time. While serving the US Army in the Vietnam War, Robert suffered a gunshot wound, leaving him wlimited mobility in his right hand and arm. Following his time in the service, Robert attended Ferris State University. There he pursued a dein Technical Illustration, and afterwards worked for 23 years as an illustrator for Steelcase. Robert has continued to hone his artistic skills ivariety of art media over the years and today participates in many art shows and exhibits throughout Michigan. He has found that pyrographis artistic specialty, provides a unique form of therapy for his hand and arm.

    Chris Stoffel Overvoorde was born in Capelle aan de Ifsell, trained as a metal worker and diesel mechanic, working on ocean liners in the harbor of Rotteruntil moving to the United States in 1957. In Grand Rapids, he completed the Visual Arts program at Kendall School of Design and later attended theUniversity of Michigan and received a BSD in 1964 and MFA degree in 1966.

    A professor in the Art Department at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Chris taught painting, printmaking, graphics, photography, drawing and the history oDutch art. During his tenure, he served as Chairman of the Art Department, Director of Exhibitions, Curator, Director of Connections: A Baroque Festival Director of Multicultural Year, Director of Alarabara World Art Series, and as Artist in Residence. He is now a Professor Emeritus at Calvin College.

    As a working artist, Chris has been active as a Graphic Designer, painter, printmaker and as a worship environmentalist, presenting in over 50 solo exhibitithe USA, Canada and The Netherlands. In 2004 the Grand Rapids Art Museum installed a retrospective exhibit: Chris Stoffel Overvoorde, A Life in Art.

    Designed by America's most famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Meyer May House was commissioned in 1908 by a proGrand Rapids, Michigan clothier. An example of Wright's now-famous Prairie style of architecture, it was restored to its originconcept by Steelcase and opened for visitor tours in 1987. The Meyer May House offers the public a rare opportunity to view atotally designed living environment, a composition of light, planes, and space just as Wright envisioned it in 1908.

    Everything in the house works together to create a unified and harmonious whole.
