Description: Night with the Stars Details: Explore the heavens with a 5 inch astronomical reflector telescope and

powerful binoculars. See the craters of the Moon, and the rings of

Saturn. View the Milky Way, galaxies, star clusters and nebulae where

stars are still being created. Get tips on how to take up astronomy as a

hobby. Timing will be dependent on availability of a clear, dark sky and so

may need to be scheduled at short notice by mut ual agreement. The

objects available for viewing will be dependent on when the session

takes place and v iewing conditions. The telescope can be transported

so you could choose to view in your own garden (assuming availability of un-obscured dark sky) or at Manor Cottage. The session can be

adapted for children. Adv ice on any equipment of your own can also

be prov ided.

A Summer Sailing Day at DARTMOUTH FOR 4 PEOPLE on board ‘Margarita’

a REGINA 38ft sailing YACHT

We will arrange a Saturday which is convenient for us all and when the weather forecast is very

promising. We would be delighted to provide you with one of the following for your special day:

You will need to make your own way to Darthaven Marina, Kingswear and we will expect you for

breakfast at 8.30 am. We will take a 4 hour sail along the beauti ful Devon coastal waters to Salcombe

which has lovely beaches. Anchoring off one of the beaches you can either swim to the beach to spend

time on the beach or take the dingy and motor into Salcombe for a browse. A light sandwich lunch

will be provided and we will then sail back to Dartmouth to arrive early evening when a two course

supper on board can be enjoyed before you leave. Your day will finish at approximately 9.30-10.00

pm.

or Dartmouth and the river Dart are wonderfully picturesque. For a more relaxing day with less sailing

you will need to make your way to Darthaven Marina, Kingswear to arrive mid morning for coffee.

We will sail out to Start Bay and anchor off one of the beaches to enjoy a swim and relaxat ion on the beach. This wi ll be followed by a two course lunch on board. After lunch you can test your sail ing

skills as we return to explore up the Dart river. Returning to the marina for a late Devon Cream tea you can anticipate finishing your day at approximately 6.00pm.

Chateau Caronne Ste Gemme is l ocated in the central Médoc, ju st south of St Julien, near St Lau ren t Médoc. Caronn e Ste Gemme d erives i ts n ame from Carona, a n earby sp rin g, with Ste Gemme being a derivative of St

James, a l ocal parish.

The estate h as a l on g history, and is first mentioned in l ocal record s as long ago as 1648. There was vi ticul ture at this time.

The 4 5 hectares of vines, which have the Haut-Méd oc appellation, si t on a gravel plateau typical of the Méd oc, over an iron rich clay-sand stone base

at th e western en d and a more sand y mix towards the Giron de. Th e encé page ment i s also fairly typical; there is a d ominan ce of Cabernet Sauvign on, with a li ttle less Merl ot and just a few Peti t Verd ot vines.

The gran d vin i s Chateau Caronne Ste Gemme, a fairly cl assic blend comp risin g about 60% C abernet Sau vign on , 37% Merl ot and 3% Peti t Verdot, al th ough the exact prop ortions do vary with the vin tage.

Tasting Notes: 2003 Th e 2003 Caronne was a beau ti ful col or, and the black frui t and briar assaul ted your sen ses. It was somewhat fruit forward , with layers of frui t, herbs, and very low acidity. It was a bi t

astringent on the finish, bu t this characteristic should fade as i t picks up a few years in the cellar.
