I gave the questionnaire to a total of 10 people, 6 of them were females and 4 of them were males.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT MY FRONT COVER?

The majority of people (50%) best liked my ‘main

image’ and 20% of the people I asked liked my

‘masthead’ and ‘coverline design’ this shows that

there are various different aspects of m front cover that people liked. This

connotes that it has the potential to reach my

target audience.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT MY CONTENTS PAGE?

Main choice selected was ‘column layout’ which is one

of the main aspects about my contents page therefore this

is a good result to gain because the layout is one of

the first factors that will appeal to the eye. There were

a few options not chosen however this isn’t a concern

because the choices that were chosen are the main features of the contents so serve their purpose to grab target audiences attention.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT MY DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD?

I asked 10 people and the majority of people best

liked my ‘article’ which is the main part of the

double page spread (so this is a positive result).

Moreover, the other choices which have been selected by the people I

asked are the main features therefore this is a good result, the choices

that were not chosen aren’t major features.

WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT MY FRONT COVER?

The strapline and the coverlines (3) were the highest chosen choices

therefore if I was to improve the front cover I would consider changing the artists that feature in the coverlines and maybe

make a more eye-catching coverline.

WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT MY CONTENTS PAGE?

The Boy band photograph (5) was the highest chosen

choice therefore if I was to improve the contents page I would consider changing the

photograph to a different band of a different age or a mixed gender band so it can be generalised across both

genders. However, I didn’t do this in my final product as it features this boy band and a female artist so there is a mix

just not in the same band.

WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT MY DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD?

The majority of people I asked would change the

colour scheme. It is currently red, black and grey which I personally

think best suits my music genre however if I was to change it against these results I may consider

adding a brighter mixed gender colour.

DO YOU THINK THAT MY REGULAR CONTENT IS SUITABLE FOR A ROCK MAGAZINE?

100% of the people I asked think that my

regulars are suitable for my magazine therefore

this means that they will appeal to my target

audience and that they connote rock music which

is extremely important because rock is what my magazine is based on.

DO YOU THINK THAT MY FEATURE CONTENT IS SUITABLE FOR A ROCK MAGAZINE?

100% of the people I asked said that my

features on the contents page are suitable for my

rock music magazine. This means that the main things that will feature in the magazine will grab my target audiences

attention and links to the music genre rock. So

overall this means that my magazine will be

successful within the rock music fans.

DO YOU THINK THE BAND ‘THE MIGHTY TOUCAN’ I HAVE USED ARE SUITABLE FOR A ROCK MAGAZINE?

100% think that the band I interviewed and took

pictures at their gig which I then used on the double page spread are suitable

for a rock magazine which is a positive result because this shows that

the magazine is consistent and everything

that is featured on the double page spread that is based on the band will

appeal to the target audience.

DO YOU THINK MY FONT CHOICES SUIT THE GENRE OF MY MAGAZINE?

100% of the people I asked said that the fonts I

have used in the magazine suit the genre rock which is a positive result because for the

magazine to be effective and target my chosen

audience it will need to be solely based on rock music as it is for rock

fans.

WHAT IS THE STRONGEST PART OF MY FRONT COVER?

6 out of the 10 people I asked said that the main image on the front cover

is the strongest part which is a positive result because the main image

is one of the main focuses on the front cover that

will grab the target audiences attention therefore it meets its

purpose which is extremely important.

WHAT IS THE STRONGEST PART OF MY CONTENTS PAGE?

The strongest part of my contents page is the ‘Main black and white photograph’ which is

the biggest image below the title. This show that the image reinforces the message of the

magazine about rock music and that it instantly grabs the

audiences attention. However, the choice that wasn’t selected

by any of the people I asked was the title; this could suggest that maybe if I was to improve the

magazine I would make it more bold however I wanted the

content and the images to stand out the most to reinforce rock

music.

WHAT IS THE STRONGEST PART OF MY DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD?

The strongest part of my double page spread is the

‘black and white The Mighty Toucan photograph’ which is a positive result because this is

one of the main focuses of the double page spread as it is large and centred in the

middle of the two pages. One of the choices that wasn’t picked out was the page

numbers but these aren’t as significant as the rest of the

text and images on the double page spread.

DO YOU THINK THE COLOUR SCHEME (RED/BLACK/WHITE) REPRESENTS THE GENRE OF MY MAGAZINE (ROCK MUSIC)?

100% of people said that the colour scheme I used represents the genre of the magazine which is

rock. This is an excellent result because the colour scheme is consistent all

the way through my three products and is one of the

first aspects of the products you notice.

Therefore it is crucial that the colour scheme is

correctly matched to the genre.
