The majority of our audience were females, which is our main target audience. Therefore the results we got, helped us know how we can make our music video appeal to them

We also had males take our survey, even though they weren’t our main target audience we can take into account what they say as then it can still appeal to a wider audience.

Everyone who took our survey was 14-25, which was the target audience age range we were aiming for, therefore the results we received will be helpful to us.

The majority of our audience (10) preferred to have a female as the main character in the music video. This influenced our decision when choosing our main character/artist, Robyn.

However we also do have a male in this music video, so therefore this could appeal to the minority of the audience – thus appealing to others outside our target audience. The male is

only a supporting role however does appeal in the majority of the music video.

The audience feedback showed that the majority of our audience wanted the main character to be a teenager. This also influenced us when making the decision to have a teenager in the

music video as we want it to appeal to our target audience.

There was quite close results between the results in question 5, however the overall majority was to have both, performance and narrative. However by doing this, all audience members

preference are met as both of them will be included in the music video.

The majority of the target audience wanted a mixture of locations. This was quite big majority, so therefore we decided to shoot in more than one location.

Although the target audience did not chose a field or a house, because it’s not specified, we decided to chose a house and a field. Once more planning as been done, and the final shot

plan has been made, we may film in a street or city – depending if it fits in with the narrative of our music video storyline.

A broken relationship was quite popular with our target audience. Therefore we decided to include a broken relationship in our music video as this was the most preferred choice out of all the choices.

A broken relationship could also be considered a social issue and therefore we are appealing to an audience who may be interested in social change and being influenced positively by the media- this could venture outside our target audience as such reeling in a wider audience

The majority of our audience (10) preferred to have a female as the main character in the music video. This influenced our decision when choosing our main character/artist, Robyn.

We decided that we would also include an ideal relationship, as it would contrast with the broken relationship – and further push this idea of a social issue

Our audience feedback was quite split on question 8

We have decided to include both 10s and the 50s and contrast between the two. The 50s style will be shown through the ideal relationship as the 50s are often associated with having the perfect relationship and lifestyle. Then the broken relationship will be set in now, connoting that this is a social issue we are facing now and it brings a message

Page 8: Audience feedback annotations

The feedback on this question is reasonably diverse however the most common answer givenwas a split ‘none’ and ‘gritty’.

As such we have used this to influence the contrast in filters between the different sequences (i.e. 50s to modern day). The modern day scenes will have a more dull and gritty tone to them to illustrate the violent nature and the 50’s dream will have little to no filter showing a more natural and bright tone.

The feedback we got for this question is very positive as we got the results we would have hoped for. It illustrates Taylor swift (who is the artist of our chosen song) is most popular among our audience, meaning the music video should appeal to them

In addition to this, Madonna and Etta James who were ranked least favored on the list are far from the genre and style we wish to portray. It helped us to understand the kind of things are audience enjoys watching and listening to, and has helped develop our initial ideas.

Page 10: Audience feedback annotations

Similarly to the previous question, it illustrates to us the type of genre our audience enjoys listening to and this this helps influence our ideas.

Kanye West is second to last least favored on the list which indicates that his style is not like by the audience, and therefore we will not incorporate his style and genre. In addition, Cliff Richard was least preferred, this could be due to the fact a young modern audience are unaware of him or simply don’t like him therefore its important to us we stick to a modern style of music and genre as to appeal to our target audience.

Page 11: Audience feedback annotations

These results were somewhat surprising although it has really helped understanding our audience further.

The fact that the most preferred group was a girl group is promising. Little Mix are renowned for being the first girl group to win the X factor, since then some of their songs have promoted power to women and as such this illustrates to us that our audience is interested in this message. Therefore we feel the social issue we hope to convey appeals to our target audience.

Page 12: Audience feedback annotations

This illustrates that our target audience is predominantly interested in pop music

Therefore the genre of music we have decided on will appeal to the audience, as Taylor Swift falls under Pop. Arguably she could also be seen as slightly indie, and as this ranked third highest, the music choice should be suited to our audience

Page 13: Audience feedback annotations

The audience has chosen the favored styles as chic and hipster.

This influenced our costume choice in the different scenes as we’evdecided on the classic 50’s style suit and tie, with Robyn wearing a classic vintage dress, therefore hopefully this will appeal to what the audience wished to see. In addition the modern day scenes will have Robyn wearing a flannel top with blue jeans, which could arguably be seen as a laid back casual wear hopefully appealing to those who wish to see hipster clothing.

Page 14: Audience feedback annotations

The audience liked Taylor Swift the most which means that our music video should appeal the majority of our audience/

As well as it being the same artist we have chosen it is the closest style of video that relates to ours therefore this should appeal to our target audience. Also after reading this it helped us to determine that this was our definite chosen song and genre.
