Something to look at next year.

Page 4: Audit of skills

These were the main software's that I used. I usedPower Point as a timeline, to keep my magazine progresstogether in one place. I found this a good way to rememberwhere I was up to every lesson and my targets for that lesson. My skills in Power Point were already well developed as I havebeen using it for years.

I first used Photoshop in year 10 when I started Media Studies and I feel that my knowledge and skills have grown a lot since. It was a programme that you had to use to learn about it,experience it for yourself.

Blogger was new this year. It was used instead of a folder to store our work.It is an online book. Everything we did to do with our course work had to be bloggedIf it wasn’t, it wasn’t market. Felt it had its ups and downs.

Prezi is a programme that I uploaded a few of my evaluation questions with.It was easy to use and looked effective when finished. Never used it before andfeel I have learnt a new skill

1. In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of a real media?

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?5. How did you attract or address your audience?6. What have you learnt about the technologies from the

process of constructing this product?7. Preliminary task review comparison

Helped me to recall all the research and planning I had done over all.Collecting everything together to discus improvements if any wereneeded, most enjoyable areas, hardest and easiest areas of work.

Gives an overview of my years work from my point of view.

To generate ideas for my work I used mind maps and lists. It was a good way to get my ideas out in front of me and lists worked as a way to keep track of what I was doing. I used theinternet for market research to bring to my knowledge of existingproducts that would be similar to mine.

This year we had a green screen to work with which wasn’t what I expected. It was very hard to edit in Photoshop and caused a green glare on shinny objects.I only had one photo shoot with the screen because I found a white wall workedbetter and easier to edit.

I had to trim the hairAround the face as The green was every-where

Had to fill in the glareto make the guitar look full

Another techniqueI used was changingthe lighting to improve image quality. I feelit got the effect I wanted

Page 13: Audit of skills

In my course work, sounded wasn’t used, but in my evaluation to show I could use a range of programmes I added sound to an evaluation question that used Prezi.

I hope to expand my use of sound a lot more next year.

Drafting for me was a good way to get all the different ideasout on screen before making a decision. It also gave me anidea of what the magazine was going to look like as a finishedproduct.

Nothing was permanent making swapping and changing an easytask. I found that I always looked back at my flat plans. They gaveme positioning and layout ideas, therefore I knew where everythingwas going to go.

Power point helped gathermy planning and research

Page 17: Audit of skills

• Group organisations of photo shoots and asking for opinions

• At lot of the work was independent so no much need for a lot of communication

• Next year I expect more people skills to be incorporated into the course work

Page 18: Audit of skills

• Difficult to keep to time management as research couldbe updated throughout

• Deadline were used

• I had a list of things to do to keep track of whatneeded doing and when by

• This list was very helpful

Page 19: Audit of skills

• Detailed research into chosen genre of music video

• Go out more-city more than school settings

• More research and planning for the exam questions

• Learn a new software

• Use the blog to its potential
