Audition Packet for Man of LaMancha

Description of Play:"Man of LaMancha" is the popular musical adaptation of Miguel deCervantes novel, "Don Quixote" and was first presented on Broadwayin 1965. It is the winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best MusicalScore and Best Musical.This is an inspiring story about tilting with windmills and reaching theunreachable star, set in a Spanish dungeon in the 16th century. DonQuixote de la Mancha's quest for honor and right in a world gonemad is deeply moving but laced with humor and superb music, ,whichmakes this an audience favorite. Musical numbers include: Man ofLaMancha, Dulcinea, Little Bird, Golden Helmet of Mambrino and theImpossible Dream.

Auditions:Auditions will be held at Magic Circle Theatre on:

August 4 at 1:30 and 6:30 PMAugust 6 at 6:30 PM andAugust 11 at 1:30 PM

Be prepared to sing a song for your audition. If you do not have afavorite number picked out, you can choose one from the BroadwayMusical song books that will be available. Casting:We will be casting 17 men and 6 women for various lead and chorusroles. Most parts are for adults, although several roles could beplayed by mature teens. There are no children parts. (See attachedlist of characters)

Production:Production dates are November 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22 & 23.Since there are 5 weekends in November this year, these dates willnot interfere with Thanksgiving.

Rehearsals:Rehearsals will probably be on Sunday, Monday and Wednesdaynights.
