During August we will pray the Rosary, focusing on the

Luminous Mysteries as they relate to vocations. Please join

our parish family on Wednesday evenings for the Devotion at

5:30, followed by Mass at 6:00 p.m. Note, however, that this

Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,

and saying: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of

God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel.”

(Mark 1:14-15)

P I:

Vocations to the Permanent Diaconate

“Through His service of preaching and mighty works,

men and women encountered in Him the presence of

God’s kingdom among them. Deacons—the word

literally means “servants”—are called to participate in

Christ’s mission: They too proclaim the gospel, care for

those in need through works of service, and serve as

ministers of the Church’s liturgical and pastoral life.”

“With Mary, maidservant of the Lord, we pray that all

those with a vocation to the diaconate will answer the

call to become servants of all, ministering in the wisdom,

the power, and the compassion of Jesus.

Parish Office All-Day Friday Hours will resume on August 17th.

The Family Formation Program at Holy Cross serves families with children in Grades K-6. It is a faith formation opportunity for the entire family. Families are supported and encouraged in their efforts to pray, worship, and grow in faith together as a Catholic family.

For families whose children are not enrolled in a Catholic school, Family Formation fulfills the need for religious

education and sacramental preparation. However, all families with children in Grades K-6 are invited to come and be part of the Family Formation community.

For more information or if you would like to register for this year, please contact Gloria Fellers at 352-8748. Deadline for registration is Monday, August 20th.

Revelation is the first “ongoing” study in The Great Adven-

ture Bible Study Program. In this intriguing look at one of

the most talked-about books in Scripture, Jeff Cavins ex-

plores Revelation to demonstrate how the kingdom estab-

lished by Christ in His Church is intimately connected with

the kingdom of heaven, especially through the celebration

of the Mass.

You will learn what all the mysterious figures and images

of Revelation present, as well as what will happen during

the Second Coming of Christ, what has already happened,

and what is happening now in salvation history.

Join us for Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come at Holy

Cross Parish Center beginning Monday nights, September

17th at 6:30 p.m., or Tuesday mornings, September 18th

at 9:30 a.m.

Cost is $25 for the workbook. Register before Sept. 4th

to ensure having a workbook. For more information or to

register for the study, call Holy Cross office at 352-8748.
