Learn How New Regulations Will Affect Your Business

The Department of Labor has announced significant changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act affecting 7.4 million organizations. For-profit, non-profit, and government managers must learn what changes to employee classifications need to be made in order to be in compliance with Federal Law by December 1, 2016.

Join the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with HR Total Solutions for a two-hour seminar to help you make sense of these regulations, including:

what overtime laws are changing

what makes a position non-exempt or exempt

how to properly classify positions

record-keeping methods and efficient solutions to meet your business’s needs

Lunch & Learn August 30th

When most organizations talk about “teams” it’s used as sort of a buzzword – it just sounds good! However, there is a distinct difference between a team of people and a group of people. A unified team helps us feel good about ourselves and what we are doing. A unified team helps us feel appreciated and needed. As a leader, you can create a unified team by promoting the feelings of achieving, belonging and contributing. When you strike a balance among these three qualities, you are working toward building a unified team. Join us for a lunch and learn on Tuesday, August 30 at the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce. Lunch is served at 11:45 am and the training begins at Noon. Drive for Five members—Free Chamber Members $20 Non-Chamber Members $30. Register by Wednesday, August 24. Class size is limited. Contact Kara Asmus 402-564-2769 or [email protected]
