Our great HVFA Assoc. was founded by strong dedicated women. Elaine was one of these women who worked tirelessly in most positions over many years in our galley at Timbertown. I’m sorry more of today’s members were not privileged to know her - she will be sadIy missed and fondly remembered by those who did. Contributed by Elsa Toms A big Welcome to our two new committee members who have joined the committee since our AGM last month Kim Frumar Peta Riley Presidents Report - August 2019 We have now met for the first time as the new HVFAA committee and we welcome two new committee members, Kim Frumar and Peta Riley who will be joining us. Its becoming a strong team, looking at making a few changes and improvements to raise awareness of us as an organisation and our high quality work. Congratulations to all our members who sold work or were awarded prizes at the Taree Art Show. Once again, our members provided quite a few of the award winning works in what was a very high quality exhibition. As mentioned below, we have a team of dedicated members interested in bringing some freshness and modern design to the gallery. We have had an independent professional working with us on this, quotes have been obtained and we are ready to introduce some of the improvements. Well done to the working party, Marilyn Davie, Bonnie Rissell, Jan Farrell, Trish Cameron and Anne Hardeman. Hope you are all enjoying your art and working towards those special works for our end of year exhibition. More information on this will be included in the next newsletter. Bernice Daher Gallery Report Another reasonably slow month for the gallery – we are selling quite a number of smaller works though. Congratulations to Sue Burrows (2 works), Pauline Roods (2 works), Leonie Murphy, Janet Burke, Jean McGurren, Brian Barker and Bonnie Rissell. Our working group is now set to launch into some of the revamping work in the gallery – this will mainly focus around the entry and front room at this stage, with other work taking place later in the main room of the gallery. Over the coming month you should be able to notice the changes, so come along and see the work as it progresses (its a good opportunity to bring friends along to the gallery for a peek). Our GAGS group continues to thrive. Special focus days will be on hold in August to resume again in September but all members are welcome to come along, work on their particular passions or just see what others are doing.
