The Leadership Pearland program is better than ever. The schedule of events offers more to emerging leaders by including innovative educational opportunities designed to stimulate the desire to be more knowledgeable about local, county, state and federal government and organizations. Leadership Pearland is a venue for individuals desiring a higher degree of involvement in community affairs and leadership positions. The eleven sessions are a gateway to decision makers. Learn more about the city, county, state and country in which you live - apply to Leadership Pearland today. The program is composed of eleven sessions covering such areas as personal skills, government (city, county, state, and national), economic development, social needs and other forces and processes affecting the development of the community. One of the objectives is to promote active involvement by the participants in a wide range of civic and community affairs. The 2013 – 2014 class is set to begin September 16, 2013, and run through June 19, 2014. The program includes an evening reception, six day-long sessions, a two-day retreat, and an overnight trip to the state capital, all of which are required components of the program. An optional two-night, three-day trip to the nation’s capital is available for an additional fee. The deadline for applying is August 18, 2013.
