Freshmen Recruitment
Duck season! Rabbit season! Duck season! Rabbit season! Nope, it’s recruiting season for you Key Clubbers. Meaning it is time to convince every 8th grader turning Freshman you know to join the club.
However, the trouble is the inconsistency of new members. Meaning that even though the new members will technically join the club, they might not show up to the meetings or the service projects. Therefore, it must be your mission. You are an experienced Key Clubber so take it upon yourself to become a mentor and make a change on someone’s life.
If you don’t know yet, Sentinel Day is on July 20 starting at 9 o’clock. So be there to help the Key Club booth. Not only that, but there
You can expect these buttons at Sentinel Day when you sign up to join.
will be a talk about the club to the new freshmen during the Freshman Orientation.
After the whole signing up ordeal, one must make sure they pay their dues. Paying dues is very crucial if you wish to remain in the club. Dues must be paid if you want to participate in service projects and if you don’t think we don’t know, you have no idea how much we know. Don’t forget I’m watching you.
More Sugar Shack News
Tan Luong is being warm and cozy while working early at the Suger Shack during the Salmon Bake
The month of August has been very slow so far. What gives man? The months of June and July was great and now the people signed up has been slowly diminishing like John Travolta’s movie career.
The Sugar Shack is a great way to earn community service hours and don’t forget that the officers choose the students with the most

The theme for Seattle Rally is “Service Around the World!”
Hey kids! Seattle Rally is just around the corner! For those who still don’t know what rallies are, they are mini District Conventions. People from all over the district will come and have fun! There will be ice breakers, forums, slideshow presentations, and a talent show!
So if you hate fun and don’t enjoy making new friends come anyways so we can teach you the true meaning of life. I mean there is no reason you wouldn’t be going, unless you know you, you’re sick, grounded, have a job, or about to die.
Seattle Rally is on August 12th, from 9am to 3:45pm at Hazen High School in Renton. Early Bird registration is already closed so you will have to pay $6 when you register on PNWKCSeattleRally.eventbrite.com. Don’t forget to fill out the medical form, the link is right here: http://bit.ly/SeattleRallyPacket. Don’t forget that you turn in the medical form and the money at the door on the day of the rally. Unfortunately there will be no bus ride to the rally so you on yo own.
Bon Voyage Mr. Mize
One last group picture with Mr. Mize before he leaves us. Where were you at this party for an amazing role model?
Well he’s gone. Mr. Mize is gone, and I miss him already. The party was a blast and for those who didn’t go, where the heck were you? I mean even Alex Essenberg and Natalie Johnson were there! And they don’t go to Steilacoom anymore! Oh well, there’s always the farewell party for Mrs. Snyder.
There was lots and lots

There was lots and lots
speeches about Mr. Mize. Some were from Denny Lim, Andrew Lam, Mrs. Snyder, and even our retired past principal Mrs. McCrimmon. It was located at the Steilacoom Town Hall and if you were around there at the time, you should’ve come. Farewell Mr. Mize. You are gone but not forgotten.

July DCM Results
The July DCM took place on July 31st at Blackbear in Steilacoom. The DCM was very informational all while sitting down on a comfy chair next to a warm fire and eating ice cold froyo. However, do you know about the number of people who attended the Divisional Council Meeting? There were 7 people who came and one of them was Tyler Bosser from Clover Park. If someone from Clover Park was able to go, then I’m pretty sure that people from Steilacoom or Lakewood could have made it.
Our good ol’ LTG Renee Loucks talked about the upcoming Seattle Rally. She said that there would be a bus to the rally for 7 dollars. However, there won’t be a bus anymore. That sucks. She also gave out information about the next DCM, the date is still to be announced but the location MIGHT be at a lake.
This is just a reminder that if you hadn’t joined the Division 35 Key Club Facebook page to know more about what’s happening within the division.
The good ol’ Renee Loucks is leading her monthly Divisional Counsil Meeting.
Here is our good friend from Clover Park, Tyler Bosser enjoying his frozen yogurt.
Baking Some Cookies
Hey big boy, you want some cookies? Well too bad because you weren’t at the cookie bake. Key Clubbers from the division (meaning Steilacoom and Clover Park) came to Steilacoom High School to bake cookies for wounded soldiers.
For those who did not have any experience in baking cookies like my good
friend Chelsea Daugard and I, this was a great place to learn how to bake. However, my cookies turned out very wrong, nevertheless we learned from our mistakes all while having fun.
However it’s not about the fun we had at the bake. It’s about the fact that we are helping those wounded soldiers at the Fisher House. About how we don’t need a reward for doing these stuff. That’s because we know as Key Clubbers, we do the stuff we do to help others nit ourselves. As Key Clubbers we serve to live and live to serve. That is why our organization is so great.
