God’s Word in the schools ... in a Muslim region?A large crowd of children and their families attended ...

They said it couldn’t be done.

They didn’t count on OneHope partners in sensitive regions who don’t take “no” for an answer.

We can’t tell you where this miracle is happening, because it is a Muslim-dominated region where believers may be at risk ... but right now, The GodMan film and the Book of Hope are reaching children in these schools!

“We went to what is known as a radical Muslim neighborhood with a large school of 4,000 students,” our local coordinator reports. “They allowed us to spend all day in the school distributing the Book of Hope, and inviting the students to an evening program.”

That night a large crowd of children, and their families, attended a showing of The GodMan film, and many indicated their desire to come to know Christ as Savior!

This breakthrough in a Muslim region is a tremendous blessing, and our partners ask you to keep praying for open doors and for unity among minority Christians to reach out to their Muslim neighbors.

God’s Word is reaching children in school, even in predominantly Muslim areas!

Your gift of hope for SergeyHis dad went to prison.

His mom was an alcoholic who couldn’t handle him.

So a little Russian boy named Sergey went to a special school ... a boarding school for orphans and foster children.

“They let me spend the holidays with my mother, and when I’m there, she tries to stay away from drinking,” Sergey says wistfully. “I would like to live with her again.”

Sergey and all the children in his boarding school were part of the Christmas Angel Tree outreach in Chita, Russia, and they received presents from local believers, along with a copy of the Book of Hope, a special Christmas party, and an outreach event with a showing of The GodMan film.

Sergey received the Book of Hope at school — and his life was transformed!

The film and the book both spoke to Sergey of a God who loves him, and will never leave him. He chose to follow Jesus and is now attending the local church that presented the Christmas outreach for him and his friends — his best friend Misha is also attending church and the new Children’s Club the church presents at their school every week.

Now Sergey is praying his mother will also come to Christ.

“I told her about Jesus, and that He could help her stop drinking. I believe He helps if we believe with all our heart,” Sergey says.

Thank you for bringing eternal hope to Sergey. Please pray that his mother, too, will come to embrace the hope of Jesus Christ.

Films, books and more — in Chile Chilean students are receiving

the Good News through OneHope films and programs!

Digital Scriptures in the schools, too

Right now you’re sharing the Good News in the schools of Chile — through one of our most effective programs for Latin America, the short film En Tus Manos.

Created by our partners at Toy Gun Films, En Tus Manos tells the story of a teenaged boy who struggles with domestic violence in his home, at the hands of an alcoholic father, and is being pressured to join a gang.

The film resonates with Spanish-speaking young people in many nations, and has now been approved for use in the schools in Chile too.

43 schools are showing The GodMan film to children ages 6-10

23 schools are showing En Tus Manos to youth ages 14-18

In each case, a follow-up program — for younger children, this includes a Q&A session and Book of Hope distribution. For teenagers, the follow-up encompasses several sessions of Q&A, a study of the life of Joseph from the Old Testament, Bible study and testimonies.

“Thank you for thinking about us and sending this material to our school. What I liked studying the most in the book is about treating my friends the way I would like to be treated. It has brought about a change in me. Thank you,” says sixth-grader Kevin Avila.

The Bible App for Kids is now approved for use in schools in Great Britain. One Liverpool elementary school has loaded it onto their school’s iPads and iPods!

A teacher saw the app on the phone of a teacher’s aid,

investigated it and decided it would be perfect for the students, ages 4-11.

Thanks for helping develop the digital programs that present the Gospel to the next generation with the latest technology — you’re making an impact!

Your prayers and giving transform school boys in BeninVoodoo was born here — in the west African nation of Benin. Many young people in this country come from families enslaved to the occult, or practice animist and fetishist tribal religions.

Fifteen-year-old Raimi came from such a family and tribe, the Baribas, who include drinking and sexual immorality as part of their religious “tradition.”

Raimi himself had little use for his tribal religion or for Christianity. His ambition was to become a great warrior — a conqueror like Napoleon.

But when the OneHope team came from a local church and presented Raimi and his classmates with the Book of Hope, things began to change for this young man —

He accepted Christ as his Savior. Today, he says his goal is to

honor the Savior by becoming a peacemaker!

Another child from Benin who had great ambitions was Issifou, a 12-year-old Muslim boy who wanted to become an imam, an Islamic holy man.

When he received the Book of Hope at school, he learned that Jesus is not simply a prophet, as Muslims believe, but that He is God and the Son of God.

Belinda’s home life was chaotic, and she did poorly in school as well ... until the team from the local church arrived at school with the Book of Hope for every student. Since reading the book, Belinda has dedicated her life to Christ. She found strength in her new faith and new church family, and today she’s doing better in school, too. Thanks for reaching out to her school, in the nation of Ghana, with the life-transforming Word of God.

A personal word from

President Rob HoskinsDear Friend,

Sometimes our children in the United States children seem to dread the end of summer break.

But thanks to the faithfulness of friends like you, for millions of children and youth around the world, this year “back to school” means the chance for complete life-transformation! Because at school they’re going to receive the Word of God.

I just received emails from our partners in Great Britain about our OneHope Daniel in the Lion’s Den puppet show and special-edition Book of Hope that are being used in primary schools:

“My little girl Hannah told me ... ‘Last night I said a prayer and gave my life to Jesus.’ She went on to tell me that the puppet show had brought her closer to this decision.”

“My 3-year-old (who has a very short attention span) sat and listened to the whole book! It’s also the first time he’s had any understanding of God’s plan for salvation.”

Schools can be tough places for children, and teenagers, but as friends like you stand with our partners to send God’s Word into the schools we know: they can also become places where hope can be found, and transformation begins.

Thanks for your prayers and partnership in reaching out to young people, right in their schools!

NATION BY NATION

Andres didn’t want to be in school. He refused to learn anything. At age nine, he couldn’t read at all. His school days were wasted in constant rebellion followed by reprimands.

Then he was invited to a small group meeting sponsored by a local church, and there he received the Book of Hope. Although he couldn’t read it, he was quite interested in the stories, and returned faithfully for the group meetings. He was so enthralled with his new book, he actually began learning to read by following along with the stories in the pages.

Today, Andres has chosen to follow Jesus Christ as His Savior — and his mother and siblings are also attending the small group meeting and learning more about God.

Venezuela — Transformation!

PAPUA NEW GUINEA —More than 80 Sunday school teachers and children’s ministry leaders came together for training in how to use OneHope Scripture programs to share the Gospel with the next generation — they’re excited about our partnership with Kids’ Evangelism Explosion, and the program that can help Christian children share the Good News with their friends through a special edition Book of Hope called Pathway to Hope.

BENIN — Agathe was heartbroken and hurting. Her mother had passed away, and she and her siblings were struggling to stay together and find hope in the aftermath. But then Agathe began attending a club at a local church and participating in the God’s Big Story program. Through the illustrated cards and Bible stories, she came to know Christ as her Savior. Today, she and all her brothers and sisters are following Jesus Christ.

BRAZIL — The Incredible Islands special edition Book of Hope is complete, and four million primary-aged schoolchildren will be receiving it in the months to come. Based on the same graphics and theme as OneHope’s Incredible Islands virtual world, the book introduces children to God’s Word and explains the plan of salvation.

UNITED STATES — One church recently received their order of customizable copies of the Book of Hope for an outreach event. Their reaction? “WOW! We just received the customized books ... I never imagined the books would be so polished and professional. I opened the cartons in the work room at the office because I couldn’t wait to see them. Next thing you know, all the staff that were around that area were clamoring to see the book. I think I should have ordered more! Not only is everything extremely high quality, the customization is perfect for us. Your ministry ROCKS!”

For the first time she heard that Someone loved her!

“Jesus loves you.”

Those were the words that brought tears to Lulu’s eyes. The OneHope team placed the Book of Hope into her hands, and promised her that there was a Savior who cared for her.

But Lulu felt worthless. She had been given away by her mother when she was just three years old. Her auntie took her and made her into a labor slave. She worked hard from the time she was three until a few years later ... when her auntie began selling her to men for sexual favors.

At age 13, Lulu became pregnant. And was forced to have an abortion.

She lives in one of the “sensitive regions” where radical Islam threatens Christians ... but the believers who reached out to Lulu offered her God’s Word and a message of hope that was worth the risk.

Because, for the first time in her life, she heard that Someone actually loved her!

Today, Lulu is a follower of Christ. She has been baptized and is a faithful member of her local church.

“God’s Word. Every Child.”

She couldn’t imagine that Jesus loved her

Lulu found joy and hope in Jesus!

Thank you for reaching out to Lulu with the destiny-shaping news that Jesus loves her.
