Story of a young woman who marries a fascinating widower only to find out that she must live in the shadow of his former wife, Rebecca, who died mysteriously several years earlier. The young wife must deal with the terrible secret of her handsome, cold husband, Max De Winter. She must also deal with Mrs. Danvers the housekeeper, who will not accept her as the mistress of the house. Crafting Saturday - Grown Up Coloring Saturday, August 3 at 10 AM Join us for Crafting Saturday. Take a break from the heat and explore your colorful side.

Classic Movie Friday - "Rebecca"Friday, August 2 at 1 PM

On the first Friday of each month, we show a classic movie at 1 PM. For August, we willbe showing the classic film Rebecca. Reading with RoverMondays in August!

The Washington County HumaneSociety partners with the West BendCommunity Memorial Library to offerthis program to children: a weeklyopportunity for kids, who can readindependently, to practice readingaloud one-on-one with certifiedtherapy dogs. The dogs are a patient,nonjudgmental listening ear for thekids to help them gain confidence andbecome better readers. Volunteersfrom the Washington County HumaneSociety visit the library with theirpersonal pet. Volunteers in thisprogram must be registered WCHSvolunteers and must have a certifiedtherapy dog.

Morning sessions of Reading with Rover are from 9:30 AM - 11 AM

Afternoon sessions will run all summer long and go from 3:30 PM - 5 PM.

Sign up in the children's area for a 15 minute reading time.

The ABCs of CBD OilMonday, August 5 at 6:30 PM

Come and learn everything you’ve always wanted to know about CBD (cannabidiol) oil!You will learn the history of hemp, why we need CBD, if you are depleted of it and how itworks on our endocannabinoid system. Also find out what CBD feels like, absorptionrates, and how to find the purest CBD and free samples to try if interested! ConnieMose, RN, will be here to share her knowledge of CBD oil and how it works. Noregistration is necessary for this program.

Relax & Rejuvenate in the Park!Tuesday, August 6 at 7 PMCheck out the Facebook event!

Join us for our LAST Relax and Rejuvenate in the Park series this summer! The classwill fall into the yoga discipline, including yoga, body flow, tai chi, and more! The sessionwill be taught by instructors from the Kettle Moraine YMCA. Bring your own yoga mat orbeach towel. No registration is required. All experience levels and ages are welcome,but participate at your own risk. Children age 7 and younger must be accompanied byan adult.

(Only the stuffed animals sleepover, children do not!) Come back the next day to claim your stuffed friend and seephotos of the fun the stuffed animals had while you were away! **The stuffed animals will be sleeping over, so please bring a stuffed toy that your childcan live without for the night!

Anime Manga ClubTuesday, August 13 at 4:30 PM

Anime Manga Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month, year round, at 4:30PM. We screen two episodes of a different anime each month, so we're usually donearound 5:30. Cosplay is always welcome! For August, we're watching Ouran HighschoolHost Club. Club attendees pick next month's anime at the current month's meeting. NoRSVP or signup is necessary, and you are allowed to bring snacks and beverages. Thelibrary subscribes to Japan Crate to get cool snacks to try each month. Check thelibrary's calendar or the Facebook event for more info. Geared for those going intogrades 5-12.

It's Lit: Teen Book ClubThursday, August 15 at 4:30 PM

The latest installment in our teen books-to-movies series is Death Note, an anime basedon the manga series by Tsugumi Ohba. Death Note follows Light Yagami, a teen geniuswho stumbles across a mysterious otherworldly notebook: the "Death Note", whichbelonged to a god of death, and grants the user the supernatural ability to kill anyonewhose name is written on its pages. Read as much of the manga as you want on yourown time, then join us for a screening of the first two episodes of the anime! Feel free tobring snacks and beverages, or even a full-on dinner if you wish. For August, someJapanese snacks will be provided. It's Lit is geared toward teens in grades 9-12, butyounger folks are also welcome. No signup is needed.

The Page is Loading . . . Preteen Book ClubThursday, August 20 at 4:30 PM

The Page is Loading... is a bring-your-own-book club. We don't assign a book, just comeready to talk about something you've read lately, or your favorite book ever, or justbooks in general. If you're stuck in a rut, come by to get suggestions for new books. Justfinished something great? Come tell us all about it! Geared toward preteens (grades 4-6), but older teens are also welcome. The Page is Loading meets once a month, typicallythe third Tuesday of the month from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Want to get involved? Have ideas for library improvement? Want to add some pizzazz toyour resume or college application? The Super Awesome Library Teens - SALT - forshort - meet once a month to discuss how to make the library a better place for teensand preteens. We also play games, do crafts, and eat snacks. SALT meets on Thursdayat 4:30 PM, typically the same week as The Page is Loading. SALT is members only. Tolearn more and apply, contact Hannah at the library.

Memory CafeTuesday, August 27 at 1:30 PM

Memory Cafés are places where persons with MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment), early-stage Alzheimer’s, or a related dementia can go with their care partners to socialize andhave fun with other people going through similar things. A Memory Café has no realagenda or stated purpose except to enjoy each other’s company. Cafés provide a timewhere you do not need to focus on the diagnosis, while having a great time connectingwith each other as a family or creating new friendships.

Join us for our third annual Fall Book Sale! We will be selling adult fiction and nonfictionmaterials. Proceeds will benefit the adult library collection and adult programming. Wewill take donations of gently used adult fiction and nonfiction books for the sale until theday before, which can be dropped off at the library's Circulation Desk. Storytime for Kids

We have several storytime sessions each week to choosefrom. Visit our website for more information on Storytimes.

Baby/Toddler Storytime takes place onWednesdays at 9:15 AM and is for ages 0-24months. This is about 15 minutes of songs, rhymes,and very short stories and always ends withbubbles and playtime!Preschool Storytime sessions usually last about25 minutes and consist of stories, songs, and rhymes, and the children can stayafter storytime for a craft. Preschool storytime takes place on Tuesday andWednesday mornings at 10 AM.NO THURSDAY EVENING STORYTIMES IN AUGUST, except August 8 at6:30pm for our annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover!Also, no Storytime on Tuesday, August 27 or Wednesday, August 28!All storytime sessions are drop-in and do not require advance registration.
