Fall is rapidly approaching. School has now started and kids are back to learning and Friday nightfootball will bring you to cheering on your favorite team. What an exciting time its going to be.

I hope you are just as excited about growing as a disciple this fall. Each week you can grow in your

faith by being committed to Sunday morning worship and Adult Bible Fellowship hour. You cancontinue to grow your faith in one of our Life groups or elective studies as well. Just so you knowwhat all we are offering, here is a sampling. Next week we will highlight other options!

Family Reunion will begin on September 14th @ 6:30 P.M. Each Wednesdayevening will be different through out the month. Each night, will either be a time of worship and prayer, a Christian film, small group, or Bible study. This will be a great opportunity to get to meet new friends in a relaxed atmosphere. I do hope you will

 join us!

The cost per person is $10 to cover the cost of the group resources. The goal of this study is to move you from being a fanof Jesus to an authentic follower. Led by Brad each Sunday night @ 6 P.M.

Starting September 20th, we will offer an exciting new study by Frances Chancalled FORGOTTEN GOD. This DVD driven study on the Holy Spirit and his role inyour life will challenge you to stop living by your own strength and to begin livingunder His direction. Jean and I want to say THANK YOU for all thekindnesses shown to us while Jean was in the

hospital due to her fall resulting in a broken

hip, June 12. The elders and other folk in the

congregation made Jean's six week stay at Crestview Rehab Facility filled with smiles and

encouragement with their visits. Our church

family at Fifth Avenue is most appreciated.Jean just wrapped up her third week of Out-

Patient physical therapy and is now "on her

own" as she continues the exercises the

physical therapists put her through during her

stay at Crestview.

THANKS AGAIN for all your cards and visits.

Children of God..."Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

working with young

y  God¶s blessing of

summer activities

Some Items of Business«By Glen Shady

y  If you are looking for a new Sunday school class, there are a couple

of options for you to consider. A wild and zany option for you

would be to join our middle school/high school class. Just like any

class, it would be an opportunity to learn from the Bible. Unlike

other classes you would have the opportunity to connect with some

awesome teens and it would open up natural opportunities for

service.

y  Another great option would be the new Sunday school class

starting the first Sunday in October. I am excited to be teaching

this class and am hopeful that young adults who are not currently

involved in Sunday school will consider this class an option.

y  For all elementary students, Wednesday night classes will be

meeting every week starting this next week. The age group for this

class is preschool ± 5th

grade. The class will be from 6:30-7:30 and

there will not be a meal.

y  If you are looking for opportunities of service, we have multiple

needs in the youth ministry from nursery all the way through high

school. Even if you cannot help with something every week, does

not mean you cannot be a strong, positive influence in the life of a

child or teen. We ask you to pray about whether or not God wants

to use you in this way.
