    Minutes of the Regular Meeting

    East Sac County Community School District

    Board of Education

    July 29, 2015

    The regular meeting was called to order by Rodman at 6:00 p.m. at the East Sac County HighSchool – Lake View. Present were Rodman, Wilhelm, Drost and Stoltenberg. Lynch wasabsent. Also in attendance were Supt. Kruthoff, Principal Fischer, Principal Litterer, one mediarepresentative, and three staff members.

    Rodman read the mission statement to start the meeting.

    Drost moved to approve the agenda as presented, Stoltenberg seconded; motion carried 4-0.

    The consent items were reviewed. Wilhelm moved to approve the bill to Albrecht Oil for

    $1033.95, Stoltenberg seconded; motion carried 3-0 with Drost abstaining. Stoltenberg movedto approve the consent items including the 6/30/15 financial statements, the Minutes of the June24 Regular Meeting, and bills on account of $329,201.19, Drost seconded; motion carried 4-0.

    Mrs. Kruthoff reported on the planning being done to implement the Teacher Leadership andCompensation Grant that will begin in 2016-17.

    Mrs. Kruthoff reviewed with the Board the recommendations and priorities for improvementfrom the Joint SIACC and CTE Committees subsequent to the Department of Educationaccreditation visit.

     No action was taken on Board Goals.

    Drost moved to approve the contract proposal from Burton E. Tracy for audit services for FY2015 ($6,800), FY 2016 ($7,000), and FY 2017 ($7,200), Wilhelm seconded; motion carried 4-0.

    The following Board Policies were presented for update:  Policy 600-Goals and Objectives of the Education Program, Policy 601.1-School Calendar, Policy 604.1-Private Instruction, Policy604.7-Dual Enrollment, Policy 705.1-Purchasing-Bidding, Policy 708-Care, Maintenance, and

     Disposal of School District Records, and Policy 803.1-Disposition of Obsolete Equipment.

    Stoltenberg moved to approve the updated policies as presented, Drost seconded; motion carried4-0.

    The Board, administration, and staff discussed the high school physical education program andexpectations. The Board was asked to consider including the physical education grade as part ofthe cumulative grade point average. Wilhelm moved to approve the inclusion of the physicaleducation grade in the cumulative grade point average, Drost seconded; motion carried 4-0.

    Wilhelm moved to accept the resignation of Mollie Brandt (associate) as presented, Stoltenbergseconded; motion carried 4-0.

    The following contracts were presented for approval: Jill Wunschel – Teacher ($39,470), LeAnnBoeckman – Teacher ($34,818), and Steve Nuetzman – JV Softball ($2,055). Stoltenberg movedto approve the contracts as presented, Wilhelm seconded; motion carried 4-0.

    The next regular meeting has been scheduled for 8/24/15 at 5:00 p.m. in the East Sac CountyHigh School – Lake View.

    Wilhelm moved to adjourn, Stoltenberg seconded; motion carried 4-0. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
