    rolling twelve strikes in a row atthe right time for a 300 game onhis way to tally an 802 sessionhigh series contesting in the JIBLanes All Stars League.

    Wrecking Crew should be con-gratulated for winning Battle bowland for being the 2011 Tri-stateRegional Champions.

    BROOKLYN, NY - DrewHodnicki earned top series honorsrolling in the Thursday MixedTriples League at Maple Laneswhen he posted 811 set on gamesof 279, 264 and 268.

    Anthony Mastroianni, Jr. alsotossed a 279 game and finished thesession with a 745 series followed

    by Viviany Tapia tossing a 275and leading the ladies was DianeMartella with a 234 game.

    Rolling in the PBA ExperienceLeague it was Joe Lorenzo on topwith a 246 game followed by EricRogers 238.

    Michael Samways pitched a 279game in the Tuesday MixedHandicap and Bonnie Feliciano hit267 in a 661 set.

    In the Wednesday Bowl USALeague Alma Velazquez bowled246-617 and James Luciano 266-683.

    bowlers in the creation of the $250,000 North PointeJunior Gold Championships presented by Brunswick.

    The North Pointe Junior Gold Championships ismade possible by the merger of the United StatesBowling Congress (USBC) Junior GoldChampionships and the Bowling Proprietors

    Association of Americas (BPAA) North Pointe HighSchool Singles Championships into one event.

    The new North Pointe Junior Gold Championshipswill feature some significant changes for the tourna-ment and USBC Junior Gold membership including:

    USBC Junior Gold membership no longer will havea minimum average requirement The North PointeJunior Gold Championships will have two age divi-sions 20 and under, 15 and under for both boysand girls. The creation of the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships is a remarkable example of

    bowlings membership organizations and leadingsponsors coming together to make a change that ben-efits the kids, International Bowling Campus (IBC)

    Director of Youth Development Chad Murphy said.We now have a significant event for children 15 andunder, which is a critical development age, preservedthe opportunities for older teens and opened the ben-efits of Junior Gold membership to all youth

    bowlers. North Pointe Insurance is the nation's largest insur-

    er of independent bowling centers. In addition to itssponsorship of the Junior Gold Championships,

    North Pointe has made a multi-year commitment tothe Youth Education Services ( YES) Fund and will berecognized as a YES Fund founding partner.

    The North Pointe Junior Gold Championships willcontinue to be open to youth bowlers who qualify

    throughout the season at regional Junior Gold eventsaround country and will feature automatic bids toJunior Team USA as part of the competition. Theevent will be held in Indianapolis in July 2012, inconjunction with the USBC Youth Open.

    Ron Mohr Wins PBA Senior Jackson OpenClinching His Second Senior Player of the Year Crown

    JACKSON, Mich. RonMohr of Eagle River,

    Alaska, won the ProfessionalBowlers Association Senior Jackson Open at AirportLanes for a record-tyingfourth Senior Tour win of theseason and clinching his sec-ond PBA Senior Player of the Year crown in the

    process.Mohr defeated Rick

    Vittone of Ontario, Canada,226-203, in the champi-onship match in the bowlingcenter where he won his firstSenior Tour title in 2009 onhis way to his first Senior Player of the Year honor.

    In addition to his four titlesthis season, Mohr has twosecond-place, a third, afourth and a 13-place finishwith one more tournamentremaining in Dayton, Ohio.

    "This is the way I wanted to win it, said the 55-year-old Mohr, who clinched Senior Player of theYear by making the semifinal round. I wanted toearn it and not back into it. To do it here where Ihave a lot of fond memories made it special

    because this is where I won my first Senior Tour title."

    PBA Hall of Famer Walter Ray Williams Jr. of Ocala, Fla., and Harry Sullins of ChesterfieldTownship, Mich., a two-time winner this season,were long shot contenders for Senior Player of the

    Year but were eliminatedfrom contention once Mohr

    made the semifinal round.Williams and Sullins wouldalso have had to win thetournament and next weeksseason finale in Dayton for any shot at challengingMohr for the honor.

    My target was to makethe semifinal round and thenlet everything take care of itself, said Mohr, who nowhas seven career Senior Tour titles. Once I accom-

    plished that I felt reallycomfortable and just had tomake some minor adjust-ments from the semifinal to

    final match.In the semifinal round,Mohr defeated Sullins 268-227 and Vittone defeatedHall of Famer Tom Baker of King, N.C., 205-172, to

    advance to the title match.Mohrs four titles tied the record for most in a

    season with Pete Couture (1998), Dale Eagle(1999) and Tom Baker (2006).

    Its just been a great year and something I real-ly didnt expect, Mohr said. "Ive had a lot of

    breaks this year and a guardian angel on myshoulder. Its been an example of a year whereyou really need everything going your way toachieve something like this.
