Postscript:

A Memorial posted to Find-A-Grave for David Brumley [1787-1875],

a son of Augustine Brumley:

David Brumley was married three times. He owned five miles of land up and down the Nolichuckey River,

including the Ripley Island. He is buried in an unmarked grave in the McCorkle cemetery near the Ripley

Island and the Chuckey river. At one time an old tree stood at or near the head of his grave. He is buried on a

small hill among the trees, facing his home, which was torn down in later years. There are several graves there

marked by slabs of slate rock with no way of identifying the people. This small cemetery is now grown up in

bushes and trees. Most of the graves have been removed to Old Stone Dam Cemetery.
