1 Overview

Australia Post is proud to be a provider of wine deliveries around the nation and our offer of delivery solutions has been expanded as part of our continued agreement to include eParcel.

Prices contained in this document have been developed for Wines of Western Australia members who do not lodge sufficient quantities for an agreement in their own right.

2 Parcel Post Untracked

2.1 Service overview

Australia Post has made a significant investment in automating our Parcels network to improve our capacity, processing speeds and sorting capability. As a result of this investment it will now be more costly for Australia Post to accept and process unbarcoded parcels as additional manual processes are required to sort and process these parcels.

For our customers that are unable to use our eParcel service, or those who do not have internet access, this guide outlines the lodgement options and conditions of using our Parcel Post Untracked service. These lodgement conditions require you to place a Parcel Post Untracked barcode label on your parcels, either near or included as part of the address label. This barcode is then used by Australia Post to efficiently and accurately process your parcels for delivery.

The following options are available for producing and affixing a Parcel Post Untracked barcode label to your parcel:

1. Application of a self-adhesive barcode label provided by Australia Post

2. An Application Programming Interface (API) call to a label print service that returns an address label complete with the required barcodes

3. Generate a barcode on the address label that adheres to the specifications in the Customer Specifications for Parcel Post Untracked Service document

Important

If you choose to use our Receipted Delivery or Express Post service, you are not required to produce and affix a Parcel Post Untracked barcode label to your parcel. The Receipted Delivery and Express Post services already incorporate a barcode label as per the below examples.

3 eParcel

3.1 What is eParcel?

eParcel is Australia Post’s online freight management system designed to streamline the distribution of your products.

3.2 What are the benefits of eParcel?

3.2.1. Tracking

All parcels sent through the eParcel system are barcoded and tracked; keeping you informed about where your parcel is throughout the delivery journey. Your customers also have the option to track the progress of their delivery via email or “Track your item” at http://auspost.com.au/track/track.html

3.2.2. Signature on Delivery

All parcels sent through the eParcel system include a signature on delivery; providing you with confirmation and peace of mind that your parcel has been delivered and signed for.

3.2.3. Transit Cover

Transit Cover provides you with cover for the specified value of your parcel (up to $5,000) if your parcel is lost or damaged while being carried by Australia Post.

3.2.4. Carded parcels

If no one is available to receive and sign for your parcel, Australia Post will leave a card advising the recipient that a delivery was attempted. Alternatively, delivery instructions can be placed on the label allowing the parcel to be left in a secure location, if one is available.

The eParcel system can be used to send parcels both domestically and internationally. Our new 8 zone pricing structure and service offering is comprehensive; providing you with a number of different delivery services when sending parcels internationally.

3.2.6. Returns

eParcel Post Returns and Express eParcel Post Returns (where your customers drop off their parcels at one our retail outlets) or eParcel Call for Returns (where we pick the parcel up from your customer) are all available through eParcel. Our eParcel Returns service provides added convenience to you and your customers.

3.2.7. Multi-browser capability

The eParcel system can be used on a variety of different platforms, including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.

3.3 How eParcel works

1. Create a consignment for your parcels, by providing the required information on our easy to use online

form. Check the form once you’ve filled it in. You can change and edit as necessary.

2. Save your consignment information and then download the labels.

3. Print and attach the labels to your parcels.

4. Despatch your consignments using the online system. This will send the information directly to the

lodgement facility, and provide a print manifest report for you to print.

5. Lodge your parcels and the printed manifest report with your driver (if available within your area) or at

an Australia Post retail outlet.

6. The lodgement facility will check your parcel against the paper manifest you provide with the ne that’s

been received electronically, and record the arrival date and time of your parcels.

7. Parcels matching the manifest information are accepted and begin their journey. If there’s a mismatch

of information, your consignment will be placed on hold until the issue is resolved.

For those destinations showing “May require import permits” it is the responsibility of the addressee to check with their customs authorities regarding duties/taxes and whether the wine is allowed to be imported.

5.1 Lodgement

You need to ensure your parcels are lodged at an Australia Post retail outlet listed in the lodgement information section. See page 19 for listing of available lodgement points. Please quote appropriate account number contained in this agreement
