Gatherings, Presentations and Events

Dystonia Awareness Month (Sept) 2018

We reached 47,666 people!

(Via Facebook)

More than last year!

Our fantastic awareness poster was shared! Many thanks to ADSG members who provided quotes for the poster to raise awareness and understanding. We were delighted also that Medtronic included our poster to their digital signage during the Dystonia Awareness Month to all their ANZ offices (5 in Australia, 1 in New Zealand). We thank them for their involvement. Like or share → ADSG Dystonia Poster.

A BIG thanks to all who participated!

Australian Dystonia Support Group (ADSG) Presentation

We had an opportunity to share a presentation about our support group at the Dystonia Network Australia (DNA) Awareness Seminars. We thank them for presenting it for us in Sydney (Chris Gavenlock) and Margot Chiverston for presenting it in Adelaide. Click link to view our brief presentation → About ADSG Slide PDF.

Support Meetings and information sessions

Support meetings were arranged during the year by ADSG or group members. They are a great way of meeting each other and catching up . Visit our ‘Support Meetings’ page for meet ups or gatherings. During the year there were opportunities to attend great information sessions organised by members and some by APCN (QBI) for patients and carers living with Parkinson’s Disease, Dystonia, Essential Tremor and Tourette’s Syndrome. A thanks to the organisers!

Dave’s Dystonia Walk

One of our members competed in the Melbourne Half Marathon to raise dystonia awareness and funds for the Brain Foundation for research into Dystonia. He raised over $6000! An exceptional achievement! Click link for more details → Dave’s Dystonia Walk. Visit our ‘Events’ page for events or updates during the year.
