BORN IN THE HEART OF FL ANDERS FIELDS1935. In the bustling city centre of Ypres, Master Baker Popelier lays the

foundations of a truly unique bakery tradition. By selecting flours from the

finest cereals, using the best quality ingredients and guaranteeing freshness

- always, no matter what - he sets a new standard for artisan craftsmanship.

Albert Popelier’s small shop soon welcomes people from far and wide,

eager to explore his exquisite taste.

The bakery really takes off when Luc Popelier and Frans

Castelein start experimenting with traditional cookies.

Their biggest challenge: making their delicacies

accessible on a larger scale, securing their bakery

expertise and family spirit.

Today, Poppies consists of many bakeries, each one

specialised in a unique recipe or variety of products.

With its Belgian roots, Poppies embodies the hospitality

of the West Flemish Flanders Fields and the generosity

of Belgian gastronomy culture.
