Alastriona (Alona) and Xintao, by the same rich client (see Prompt #2(b)), have to now go to a completely different world. In this case, the underworld. They have to collect a few things. Their main goal is to grab one or two Soul Crystals, crystals that holds the soul of a spirit in the underworld. Inside each crystal, the spirits are unaware that they are inside of a crystal. The crystals are like miniature ‘perfect’ worlds for each spirit, which keeps them happy and the underworld organized. Unfortunately, from what they know or guessing, the one watching over them is some being named Ankou (he has white hair). If the being is real, their client wants them to grab a strand of their hair from the root. Although they know what to do, they do not know where to go or how to get there…if it really exists. If they do get there, what will be waiting there for them?

When & Where

Prefer if their timeline involved technology (although their settings imply this). Although, with them going to the underworld, technology may not work there and everything might be a little wacky there too.

What & Who

The client is unknown, it is up to the writer to name him/her. The ‘what’ was mentioned previously.

Why & How

The ‘why’ and ‘how’ depends on the plot etc. Although, the ‘why’ can be expanded upon; such as why are these specific ‘parts’ are being collected (see other prompts for other ‘parts’). Maybe the client is planning to create a super being/humans/monsters etc. Or possibly something else? The writer has freedom with this idea mostly.

As a note, Alona and Xin are most likely going to be alive when they go to the underworld, and not really dead (or completely dead, depends on you). Sooner or later, Alona’s soul will be severed from her body, the reason for this is up to you (maybe they pissed off Ankou, or he found out he was being tricked by them etc.). So in addition, Xin will have to rescue Alona somehow, and she has to break out of her crystal too (or at the same time?). It all depends on the writer.

Ankou, as far as I know, is a fictional/mystical being. Feel free to use a search engine to find more info if needed. Make any necessary changes that you want/need.

As a note, ‘fan fiction’ is not preferred, meaning characters from already existing media/manga etc. but feel free to use a few if needed.

Since they are traveling, they cannot bring their ‘lab’ with them. They have to be properly prepared for this mission/assignment (unless the client is planning to pay their travel fees as well).
