Treasurer’s ReportOur chapters’ sources of revenue consist of donations, events and fundraisers, product sales, and other miscellaneous items such as programs, library revenue, and workshops. The major source of our revenue comes from the fundraisers and donations. We are glad to see that 57% of our revenue is from fundraisers. Let’s break these revenue streams down further...

• As you can see one third of our expenses come from holding and organizing the events and fundraisers. This is acceptable since events and fundraisers were our largest source of revenue. Our expenses are currently at a very good and healthy level. Our total expenses have decreased by approximately $15,000 this year.

• Our chapter’s financials consistently show that the expenses are conservative and the revenues continue to increase. In general the financials are healthy and continue to show the growth and improvement of the chapter.

Donations have increased by approximately $3,000 this year!!

Individual fundraiser revenues have increased from last year!!

Total Expenses have decreased by approximately $15,000 this year!!

JAY SERDULA

• Jay has a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and  Masters degree in Physics/Oceanography from the Royal Military College.

He was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at age 26, after he had already completed high school and university without any special education.

In 2008, he swam Lake Ontario to raise money and awareness for Asperger's Syndrome.  Since then, he has been actively involved in the Asperger's community by associating with other Aspies, their parents, teachers and educational assistants.

He is currently seeking a career as a motivational speaker on his life with Asperger's Syndrome, using his swim across Lake Ontario to demonstrate what Aspies can do when they put their minds to it.

He will speak about his swim across Lake Ontario, what it was like growing with up with Asperger's Syndrome, his strategies for coping with Asperger's Syndrome and how he used Asperger's Syndrome as an asset to complete the swim across Lake Ontario.
