    Who Are We?

    The Moroccan Center for Export Pro-

    motion is a governemental institution

    founded on December 17, 1976 (Hija

    25, 1396) by Dahir NO 1-76-385.

    MAROC EXPORT endowed with a le-

    gal responsibility and nancial auto-

    nomy, it also under the supervision of

    delegate Ministry to the Ministry of

    Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital

    Economy in charge of foreign trade.

    The Center is in charge of promoting

    the export of industrial and agricultural

    products, services, and any products

    that do not fall under the jurisdiction of

    other administrations or organizations,

    by virtue of law or regulation.

    In fact, handicrafts and tourism promo-

    tion are governed respectively by The

    House of Handicrafts and the national

    Ofce of Tourism.

    AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY IN MOROCCO

    The automotive sector is strategic in the national industrial policy. It was identied among

    the engines of growth in consideration with the major development, which achieved these

    last years on both equipment suppliers and manufacturers. This sector presents opportunities

    even more important for the next decade.

    The analysis of the main indicators evolution conrm this statement:

    The foreign direct investments knew a strong progress during the last three years. It is ex-

    plained by increased ows of direct investment for the construction segment.

    Exports knew a spectacular growth during the last three years. It is mainly due to the growth

    segment of the automotive industry in Morocco, with the starting up of the industrial complex

    activity Renault Tanger-Med.

    This megaproject have worn export vehicles to 12.7 billion dirhams in 2013 against 7.2 billion

    dirhams a year earlier.

    Concerning the other segments, the Cabling comes in rst position in terms of export. Exportcables for automobiles totaled 15.5 billion dirhams in 2013.

    In terms of destinations, Moroccan exports have a strong focus on the countries of the Eu-

    ropean Union. France and Spain, main partners monopolize 67 % of the total exchanges.

    Outside the countries of the European Union, Egypt becomes the rst African customer with

    764 million DH, through the sales of DACIA.

    DOMESTIC INDUSTRYLocal industry where new businesses are emerging continues to diversify. It identies 121 compa-

    nies as follows:

    • 99 Equipment manufacturers operating in trades, as below:

    • 14 bodybuilders

    • 8 assembly lines  * 2 for PC (passenger cars) and LCV (Light commercial vehicles)

      * 6 for heavyweight vehicles

    This industry provides employment for 55,000 people

    By 2015, 70,000 additional job will be created by the dynamics of the sector.

    A KEY PROJECT

    Renault Tanger-Med project for the production of 400,000 vehicles / year term,

    conrms the industrial development of the sector.

    This industrial Mega-site extending over 200 ha would drain the creation of 6,000

    direct jobs and 30,000 indirect.

    At the local level, the positive impact is already smelt. Several equipment manufac-

    turers settled down near this competitive site. We can nd:

    INERGY, GMD, Tréves, VALEO, TAKATA, VISTEON, DENSO, VIZA, SNOP.

    On the national level, the impact on the export is undeniable. Receipts from theautomotive tripled after the rst year of start site.

    At the regional level, the project will enable Morocco to establish as a new car

    platform in the Mediterranean basin and access to exclusive club of auto produ-

    cers countries in the world.

    cloth, and vulcanized ber since 1994 and Adhesive Tape since

    2010.
