Autumn 2017 Exclusive Event Invites We’re delighted to invite Premium Friends to two very special events during our Autumn Season We’re delighted to invite you to a very special event when Georgina Donohue, Archive Assistant with Rambert Dance Company, visits the Alhambra Theatre on Thursday 26 October, prior to Rambert performing at the Alhambra Theatre in November. The event will give you the opportunity to find out more about the history of Rambert and its association with Bradford and the Alhambra Theatre. Georgina will bring copies of some of the items in the Rambert archive that are linked to the Alhambra Theatre and Bradford with her and the event will also include a tour around the historic Alhambra Theatre. Before becoming Archive Assistant Georgina spent a year long traineeship with Rambert as part of The National Archives Transforming Archives Traineeship Programme, during which, as part of her duties she focused on Outreach and Engagement, research, creating displays and cataloguing the collection. The Rambert Archive holds significant collections documenting the evolution of British dance. It tells the story of the development of Rambert, Britain’s oldest dance company as it moved from classical ballet, through embracing modern American and other influences, to become a 21st century contemporary dance company. With over 500 costumes, 700 posters, thousands of images and objects, dance notation, music and footage, the collections held in the Rambert Archive demonstrate the company’s pioneering work in dance throughout the 20th century to present day collaborations. Refreshments will be served at 3.15pm and the event starts at 3.30pm, finishing around 5pm. The event is FREE for Premium Friends. Please call the Box Office on 01274 432000 to book.
