Trevor was chief economist at Lloyds Bank for about 15 years, setting up and running an award winning team based in the City of London. Trevor runs his own consultancy – TW research. He is a visiting Professor at the university of Derby University, rotating Chairman of the Institute of Economic Affairs Shadow Monetary Policy Committee (SMPC) and author of Trading Economics: He is a highly regarded speaker and commentator on current and future economic megatrends trends and their influence on financial markets, sectors and companies. He regularly writes articles for publications like Money Facts and the Voice newspaper.

Join Peter Denton and Matt Webster as they provide a unique perspective and insights into a real estate industry since the start of their careers, the changing landscape, the peaks and troughs in the cycles, the most exciting deals and their fondest memories.
Peter joined the Hyde Group in February 2017 as Group Finance Director. He has 23 years of pan European real estate sector involvement covering a broad range of strategic leadership roles and over £20bn of investment, asset management, joint venture, capital markets, treasury and fundraising experience. Peter moved from the Starwood Capital Group where, as a Partner for five years, he managed the firm’s Special Situations and Credit investing businesses in Europe as well as creating and being the fund manager for Europe’s largest publicly traded real estate finance company. Prior to this Peter held senior EMEA real estate investment banking roles at BNP Paribas, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Eurohypo and WestImmo. Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1997 and is a former Chairman of CREFC Europe.
Matt has taken a sabbatical from the industry having left HSBC earlier in 2017 where he spent the last 7 years as the Global Head of Real Estate Finance. He has over 25 years of real estate experience, 19 of which have been primarily on Europe. He has had leading roles in all facets of the industry including senior bank and capital markets funding, mezzanine finance, non performing debt advisory and restructuring and asset management, not to mention his involvement in the securitisation markets. Matt’s background was instrumental in various high profile roles such as his lead advisory position for the creation of the National Asset Management Agency (“NAMA”) for the Irish Government, advising various European and Global regulatory bodies and other industry trade bodies. Matt left HSBC after 12 years where He was instrumental is setting HSBC Group real estate strategy, overseeing the debt book for Global Banking and Markets, streamlining the global business model and implementing global standards for the real estate lending businesses. Matt has also held senior real estate roles at Hypo Real Estate, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and FitchRatings. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a former Chairman of CREFC Europe.
Educational morning The educational sessions are aimed at less experienced market participants and students; they are complimentary for CREFC Europe members and students with a real estate finance focus.Non-members are also welcome subject to a charge of £150 + VAT (bulk discounts available).All the above interested must pre-register. Walk-in registration will not be available for these sessions. Tim is an economist, journalist and broadcaster. He is author of “Fifty Things That Made the Modern Economy”, “Messy”, and the million-selling “The Undercover Economist”. Tim is a senior columnist at the Financial Times, and the presenter of Radio 4’s “More or Less” and the iTunes-topping series “Fifty Things That Made the Modern Economy”. Tim has spoken at TED, PopTech and the Sydney Opera House. He is a visiting fellow of Nuffield College, Oxford and an honorary fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.
Tim was Economics Commentator of the Year 2014, winner of the Royal Statistical Society journalistic excellence award 2015, won the Society of Business Economists writing prize 2014-15, and the Bastiat Prize for economic journalism in 2006 and 2016.
