TERRACOTTA WARRIORS

The Terracotta Army is regarded as one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century! Discovered in 1974 by farmers digging a well, this enormous group of 8000 sculptures amazed the world. The excavation un-covered soldiers, horses, and carriages. This incredible army was constructed to accompany the tomb of China’s First Emperor – Qin Shihuang (259-210 BC) as an afterlife guard.

The most impressive feature are rows and rows of thousands of individually detailed soldiers. These sol-diers were given unique features that are said to represent some of the actual soldiers of the day. The soldiers were molded in parts, fired in a kiln like pottery, and then assembled and painted. The army laid underground for more than 2000 years until its discovery and is now considered one of the greatest ar-chaeological sites in the world. The find was praised as the Eighth Wonder of the World and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

The combination of ultra-high relief, stunning details and unique finishes made this product a huge success. Such a special topic deserves some limited, exclusive editions. In addition to the sold-out silver issue, CIT is proud to release the Fighter Pilot in three stunning, elite versions. Featured is a 1 oz Gold, 1oz Platinum, and a large 5 oz Gold edition that is done in Black Proof. The 1 oz Gold and Platinum are limited to 199 for the gold and Platinum. The 5 oz Gold is limited to only 29. The 1 oz Gold and Platinum show the same high relief design as the original Silver, but this time, the visor is shown in a stunning mirrored proof surface. This effect will remind you on the aviator style sunglasses that these pilots typically wear.

The 5 oz Gold is done in Black Proof with the visor left in the original gold finish to allow for a stunning contrast to the Black Proof surface. The two pilots walking on the obverse are also left in the original gold finish.

FABERGE – ROSE TRELLIS EGG

CIT is very proud to release the second edition of a coin honoring a very famous work of art! Fabergé Eggs are known as priceless treasures that were specifically made for Royalty and some of the wealthiest families in the world.

CIT has utilized its world leading colorization techniques and combined them with its smartminting© high relief to produce a coin worthy of this cultural icon. The proof is partially gilded and colored to capture the beauty of the egg.

Delicate floral ornaments in light relief are depicted in the background. This proof is limited to only 888 pieces worldwide and will be presented in a custom presentation case that is in a shape of an egg.

The coin is dedicated to the famous Rose Trellis Egg which was created in Saint Petersburg under the supervision of PeterCarl Fabergé. Much of the work was done by his workmaster Henrik Wigström in 1907.

The Rose Trellis Egg was a gift from Tsar Nicholas II to his wife, Alexandra Fedorovna commemorating the birth of their son. Each of Fabergé’s Imperial eggs contained a sur-prise, to delight the tsarevich.

This particular egg hid a dia-mond necklace and an ivory miniature portrait of Alexandra Fedorovna framed in diamonds – unfortunately, these items arenow lost to history.

This egg is enameled in trans-lucent pale green and latticed with rose-cut diamonds and decorated with opaque light and dark pink enamel roses and emerald green leaves. A portrait diamond is set at either end of this egg. The egg is approx-imately 7.7×5.9 cm in size.

Since 1952 it has resided in the Walters Art Museum in Balti-more, Maryland.

KARAKORUM800TH ANNIVERSARY

This stunning coin is dedicated to the famous city of Karakorum which was the capital of the Mongol Empire between 1235 and 1260. The site of Karakorum may have been first settled about 750. In 1220 Genghis Khan, the great Mongol conqueror, established his headquarters there and used it as a base for his invasion of China. The year 1220 is generally accepted as the year the foundations of the city were built, hence the 800th anniversary.

CIT uses the enhanced smartminting© technology to bring history onto a modern coin. The level of details on this 2 oz piece is amazing and captures the architecture of this magnificent city. LOOP THE LOOP

No virtual reality can imitate the actual thrill to ride a real roller coaster, especially a looping one. This adventure and test of courage is perfectly captured on this coin called «Loop the Loop», named after a dual-tracked steel roller coaster that operated on Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York, from 1901 to 1910. The coaster was one of the first looping roller coasters in North America. It was considered revolutionary at the time since it reduced whiplash. Despite the safer shape, people still freaked out by Loop the Loop because it was still pretty primitive. These were the days before the under-track safety mechanisms had been invented to prevent the pas-senger cars from flying off the tracks. The passenger cars on Loop the Loop had actual tires and the only thing holding them on the track was a small side railing. CIT’s enhanced smartminting© technology with ultra high relief on both sides enables to picture the loo-ping in a very realistic way. VIÑALES METEORITE

Do you remember what you did on February 1st, 2019? People in Viñales, a little city in western Cuba do for sure. On that day hundreds of meteorite stones showered down in the area. The meteorites could be seen even from the Florida Keys. In total 100 kg of extraterrestrial material was collected. So the Viñales Meteorite, the 2020 edition of this series (already the 16th issue) can be considered a new meteorite as it is one of the latest official impacts. This stunning piece tells a story. A story how the meteorite, of which an original 2.5 mm part is embedded, has hit the ground. And to picture this dynamic impact on this 1 oz coin CIT uses the new possibilities of the enhanced smartminting© technology. The crater starts from the edge of the coin and ultra high relief creates earth walls in a very realistic way.
