Hi there! It is so exciting to be heading into our 3rd term at the

GingerFred Studio. Over 100 people now take part throughout the week

and I am sure you will find a class to suit your dancing/fitness needs.

… Lou The studio will be working in 2 local primary schools this year. Huish and

Hambridge have both opted into a link scheme that will enable more dance

to happen at the school on and off the curriculum.

Term is now 12 weeks instead of 10. This is why you will see a slight cost

increase – but not much.

The new RISE scheme begins in September – we welcome 3 dance graduates

to the studio. They will be learning the studio ropes, shadow teaching and

also rehearsing a new piece of dance to tour to our local schools.

STICTLY COME LANGPORT is back! The sell-out show will be happening at the

Langport Arms on Saturday 30th November at 7.30pm. To get tickets (and

they will sell fast!) get in touch with the studio ASAP. All tickets £10 – please

buy in advance as they will not be sold on the door.

We now offer Hen Party workshops, first wedding dances, children’s parties

and personal tuition – more details inside.

GingerFred is excited to welcome Willian and Lauren Velasquez Yax to the

teaching team. Some of you may remember their steamy salsa dance at the

Strictly Langport event. They will be teaching SALSA on Tuesday nights. But

don’t worry beginners are very welcome!

A dance packed hour suitable for all abilities.

Cr8 classes are dynamic and energetic,

consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork set

to great music! This class focuses on developing

skills that enable each young person to grow in

confidence; through dance making, performing

and working together.

Cr8 Youth Dance

Cr8 Youth Dance 4 – 5pm

Learn the energetic, sexy, partner dance of

salsa, straight from Latin America with Willian

and Lauren Velasquez. No partner needed, all

levels welcome. Willian (pictured) is from

Guatemala and has been choreographing,

teaching and performing salsa for 13 years. He

has trained in Guatemala, Switzerland, Spain

and the UK.

This course provides a fun and informative introduction to the basics of jazz and street dance. Focusing on rhythm, musicality and co-ordination, you’ll gain an insight into the style and pleasure of these exhilarating dance forms. We will learn simple combinations and explore a little dance history, looking at choreography from some of the jazz dance greats.

This class is taught by early years

dance artist Hannah Lefeuvre. Using

music, creative movement, sensory

materials and the imagination, we

introduce little ones to the magical

Age 18 months – 2yrs

Inspired, fluid and no need for a

partner! This is not a pure tango

lesson, but a creative dance and

fitness class using Latin beats and

tango origins in its style. Limited

to 15 places.

This class offers a deeper study of

dance playing with moods and

styles all with a fiery Latin twist.

The group will have opportunities

to perform at local events and

dance shows.

Watch a Professional Dance Rehearsal. At the

studio we now have 3 apprentices who have

graduated from dance degree courses. From

January 2014 they will be touring Somerset

schools and colleges with a new piece of

contemporary dance performance created by

Lou. We invite you sit in on our rehearsals and

get inspired by the creation of professional

dance here in Langport.

Learn the absolute basic steps. Rock n’

Roll is a partnered social dance but you

don’t need to bring your own partner. We

rotate during this class so that you have a

chance to meet and dance with many

different people. It is a dance that is

happy, bouncy and infectious. Absolutely

no experience or partner required. A

relaxed, non – pressured class that keeps

the steps simple and

the music great!

This class is 45 minutes of crazy dancing

fun for little ones. With the help of

GingerFred’s collection of funny puppets

and characters expect to hop with Bobby

Bunny, teach the old moth Monty the

right animal sounds on Old Macdonald's

Farm, find out how the wicked wizard

casts his spells, stroke a friendly lion,

jump on the bed with Jasper the monkey

and of course flop your feet and ‘tippy’

your toes with our fave puppet Sidney! A

mad but fab lesson!

Oh and receive magic twinkle toes

wishes from Fifi the Fairy and a

Remember, you can try any class once before you have to pay for the term

11 – 1pm (Beginners) This group gives young people a

chance to learn and develop their

interest in acting, singing and

dancing. It is a great way to meet

new friends and enjoy a non-

pressured training. The session is 2

hours long and includes a fruit break

(fruit provided). The children work

towards a short sharing for

parents/carers at the studio.

1 – 3pm (Improvers)

These sessions give young people a

chance to push their acting, singing

and dancing skills even further.

They will already have an

understanding of theatre and are

ready to develop their performance

ability. The session is 2 hours long

and includes a fruit break

(provided). These young people will

work towards a full length

performance.

If a course is full we will immediately put you on the waiting list and let you

know if a place comes up. Payment for the term can be made at your first or

second class by cash or cheque.

sellout success and congratulations to Jennifer Elliot who was crowned the winner,

dancing with pro dancer Andy!

Come along to a professional comedy theatre show promoted by

Huish Episcopi Academy students at Great Bow Wharf this

November.

…Mixing theatre, stand-up comedy and clowning, writer and performer Sophie

Willan tells an autobiographical tale that is heart-warming, heart breaking, ridiculous

… and sort of true! This production is in collaboration with Take Art and Huish

Episcopi Academy.
