Malo e lelei, Greetings

Week nine sees us putting together lots of portfolio samples as a result of the terms work. These will be stored and

come home as part of the reporting process in term 2. Most families who missed parent interviews have since

caught up with teachers to discuss goals and supports for children. Those of you have yet to do so please make the

effort because we know that having your involvement and interest demonstrated in what they are doing at school motivates your

children and supports future learning.

Sports Please return sports shorts as each sport finishes. Touch is well over and all shorts and shirts should be back in. T-ball is due to

finish. The home and school want to get the shirts in for a stocktake so please make a big effort to get them in as soon as possible

after the last game.

Winter sports. We have had very few returns of forms for soccer or hockey this year. Again I am heavily subsidising the cost to make playing

sport as affordable as possible. We will still accept the forms back for soccer, hockey and netball until the middle of next week.

Miniball forms will come home this week.

Blue Day What a great response from our REAL community. Many staff and students wearing Blue to support autism awareness day. We

raised $205.00 which we are donating to the local Waitaki Autism Trust.

Sleep deprivation It appears some children are not going to bed early enough. This means they come to school tired, unable to learn properly. They

often have issues controlling their behaviour as well. Please get the children to sleep so they get the chance to refresh and be ready

for the next days learning.
