As you can see from this graph, it is only in year 5 where the SEND children are reaching their expected levels.

In Reception 50% of the SEND children are at expected levels. The year 3 child is working within the year 1 and 2 class and discussions are continuing about his

attainment and progress. We have had outside agencies involved as well.In year 6 the 3 SEND children are having lots of interventions.

As you can see from this graph all of our SEND children are making expected progress. We will of course continue to closely monitor this to ensure there is no slippage.

As you can see it is only year 6 where we don’t have everyone working at expected levels. In year 6 we are talking about 1 child. She has been assessed using Sandwell Maths Assessment which told us she is working 3 years below. This has given the staff specific objectives to work on with her and she has maths in the year 3/4 class.

All children are making expected progress in maths. As always we will continue to monitor.

Below are graphs to compare our Pupil Premium children to the rest of their cohort in maths. This is from the beginning to end of autumn term.

It is only in year 1 and year 4 where the Pupil Premium children are doing as well than the rest of their cohort. The children in the other year groups are receiving maths interventions during the week. This will be monitored closely by all staff working with those children. Some of them have been assessed using the Sandwell maths assessment. This gives us a maths age and specific targets for the child to work towards.

The majority of our Pupil Premium children are making expected progress or better. In year 2 one of the Pupil Premium children is also Looked After and has had a turbulent start to schooling. He is catching up and interventions are put in place to help him. He has been assessed using the Sandwell maths assessment and is working on targets that were identified.

In Reception and year 1 it is 1 out of the 2 children not at expected levels. In year 4 and 6 the children not at expected levels are having maths interventions to try and help close that gap.

Even though not all the children are at expected levels they are making expected progress. This shows that the interventions we have in place are working.

As you can see writing is an area we are working on with the children. We have bought clicker 7, a computer programme that helps children to write whilst taking away the pressures of writing with pen and paper. The children are enjoying using this and it helps the, to get all their ideas down. Some of the children here have speed processing issues and poor working memory. This means they find it hard to retain information and there is a lot to think about in writing. They also get small group work to support them.

Within writing we are putting in similar measures as to SEND – clicker 7, small group work, talk for writing, which is how we teach writing – remembering a text and then changing it to make it our own.
