1.1 PURPOSE The intent of this Product Ordering Guide is to assist sales staff and approved resellers when quoting the WTM 3100. This document is intended as a guide.

For more detailed information on the WTM 3100 product, please refer to the technical documentation.

2 OVERVIEW AND ORDERING GUIDELINES

2.1 SYSTEM OVERVIEW The Aviat Networks WTM 3100 series is full outdoor packet radio system, built for efficient microwave networking in space and power restricted sites.

In the next paragraphs two of most common link configurations are used to illustrate the link and terminal requirement for WTM 3100 system.

2.1.1 FDD SYSTEM WTM 3100 is FDD based system, so the transmission capacity is always symmetric due to the fact that pair of frequencies is used to operate. To configure and deploy a link one terminal shall operate at Low Band and another terminal at High Band. In case of 1+0 configuration, terminal consist of one WTM 3100 ODR and in case of 1+1 HSB configuration, terminal consist of two WTM 3100 ODRs. Each configuration is in more details explained in chapter “WTM 3100 Configurations and Ordering Examples”.

2.1.3 SYSTEM ANTENNA MOUNTING All WTM 3100 outdoor radios (ODRs) can be mounted onto antenna using several different techniques:

• WTM 3100 ODR can mount directly to an Aviat Slip-Fit antenna. • The remotely mounted WTM 3100 ODR is connected via flexible waveguide cable to the antenna. • Dual WTM 3100 ODRs, can mount to a slip-fit coupler then onto the antenna. • The WTM 3100 ODRs are mounted remotely onto remote mounts and then connected via flexible

waveguides to the dual polarization antenna. • The WTM 3100 ODRs are mounted directly to equal loss couplers and these are connected via

waveguides to a dual polarization antenna.

In Figure 2-5 a two different 1+0 installations are illustrated for reference.

2.2 MANDATORY INPUT PARAMETERS Some basic system parameters need to be determined in order to create a bill of material for a WTM 3100 order. These include:

1. Frequency band, applicable sub-band and T-R frequency split 2. Radio system configuration:

o 1+0 unprotected link o 1+1 HSB link

3. Type of power supply o POE

220 VAC -48 VDC

o Direct -48 VDC power feed

2.3 RECOMMENDED ORDERING STEPS

2.4 WTM 3100 SOLUTION ELEMENTS In Figure 2-6 all WTM 3100 solution elements are shown. Each box represents a single element or piece of equipment represents a part of the overall solution. In section 4, each element is described in more detail. Optional parts are shown with dotted line, for example DC power cable kit and associated accessories can be used optionally incase WTM 3100 is powered over direct -48 V DC power feed.

2.5 TYPE APPROVALS The WTM 3100 has been designed and tested to required ETSI standards for RF, EMC and Electrical safety.

Some national regulatory bodies require type approvals and licenses for operating frequencies may not be issued without an Approval Reference. You must ensure that the equipment is type approved for the country of deployment, before any commitment is given to the Customer.

To ascertain the WTM 3100 approval status for your specific requirement, please contact Regulatory and Compliance manager, Product Management or the nearest Aviat Networks office or representative.

Acceptance of an order does not bind Aviat Networks to obtaining necessary approvals (if not already in place) in a country unless previously agreed.

3 FORECASTING WTM 3100 SERIES EQUIPMENT

The goal of the sales forecast is to provide internal groups within the company (i.e., finance, supply chain, operations, product management, executive management) insight into the revenue, gross margin and product pipeline. The forecast is used for financial management, material and operations planning and resource alignment to ensure that the opportunities are closed successfully and within minimum possible lead times. Whenever a legitimate opportunity for WTM 3100 is identified, it should be entered into Siebel. Ideally, all opportunities entered in Siebel would have complete product detail (down to the individual part number level) and an accurate booking date. However, at early stages of the sales process where an opportunity has not yet been fully qualified, this level of detail is not always available. Therefore, “M-Level” planning part numbers (PNs) have been created to allow early stage opportunities to be entered in Siebel. They have been defined to allow for quick-and-easy entry of opportunities into Siebel and to provide some basic indication as to which WTM 3100 model, frequency band and quantity is being used.

3.1 USING M-LEVEL PART NUMBERS FOR AVIAT WTM 3100 FORECASTING

M-Level part numbers define the WTM 3100 product and frequency band at a high level for planning only and in certain cases also for quoting, note that booking based on planning numbers is not possible.

If all the details are known and if an exact PN can be specified immediately at the stage when an opportunity is detected, an appropriate PN that is listed in the WTM 3100 Tuning Guide or under the WTM 3100 Product Ordering Guide (POG) should be used in the opportunity. More details on how to use and configure WTM 3100 systems and accessories are available in chapter Error! Reference source not found..

3.2 FORECASTING PROCESS

Lead time of seven weeks is guaranteed based on defined forecast process below.

On a biweekly basis, all high-probability opportunities listed in Siebel under products to forecast are reviewed together with Aviat Networks PLM and Supply Planning.

The forecast document is released biweekly for review and comment by Salespersons who provided the forecast. Feedback is integrated into the document, which is reviewed by the Manufacturer.

Regular detailed review and up-to-date information in Siebel are critically important to maintain the desired delivery schedules. Standard ARO lead-time for all WTM 3100 products without forecast is 16 weeks. Based on six (6) months rolling forecast the ARO lead-time is seven weeks.

ARO lead-time refers to the handover between the Manufacturer and Aviat Networks (i.e., our distribution center in Amsterdam) and does not include transit time to the customer. Therefore, we recommend adding one week to the agreed-upon Manufacturer-Aviat Networks handover date for the “customer delivery date.”

3.3 FORECAST GROUPS

WTM 3100 forecast opportunities are divided into four distinct groups:

VERY LOW % OPP

This section includes all opportunities with probability of less than 40 percent, listed in Siebel. It gives a clear picture of outlying opportunities that may affect future production and material requirements.

M-Level or Exact part numbers can be used at this stage of the forecast.

>16 WK FCST (requested delivery date is greater than 16 weeks)

This section includes all opportunities that have a probability of more than 40 percent according to Siebel. Requested ship dates are greater than 16 weeks. If the requested ship date is less than 16 weeks, either the opportunity needs to be promoted to more than 70 percent probability, or the requested ship date needs to be moved back beyond 16 weeks.

M-Level or Exact part numbers can be used at this stage of the forecast.

12-16 WK FCST (requested delivery date is between 12 and 16 weeks)

This section includes all opportunities that have a probability of more than 70 percent according to Siebel. Requested ship date is between 12 and 16 weeks. If the requested ship date is less than 12 weeks, either the opportunity needs to be promoted to 90 percent probability or more, or the requested ship date needs to be moved back beyond 12 weeks.

Exact part numbers with all required accessories shall be specified at this stage of the forecast.

7-12 WK FCST (requested delivery date is between 7 and 12 weeks)

This section includes all opportunities that have a probability 90 percent or more according to Siebel. Requested ship date is between 7 and 12 weeks. If the requested ship date is less than 7 weeks, a PO or ASO needs to be placed immediately.

7 weeks prior to the requested delivery date, Aviat Networks must confirm a final Bill of Materials (BoM) with Purchase Order to the Manufacturer. This 7-week window may be reduced to 5 weeks (+1 week Aviat Networks logistics) in case of available manufacturing facilities and in case material is ready.

Exact part numbers with all required accessories shall be specified at this stage of the forecast.

4 ORDERING WTM 3100 SERIES EQUIPMENT

4.1 WTM 3100 OUTDOOR RADIO (ODR) The Aviat WTM 3100 is standards based all outdoor radio (ODR) offering 1+0 and 1+1 HSB configuration options. It operates in common licensed frequency bands from 7 to 38 GHz supporting 7, 14, 28, 56 MHz channel sizes and Ethernet/IP throughput up to 274 Mbps.

The WTM 3100 provides native Ethernet transport for packet communications and is capable of operating as a standalone Ethernet link or integrated with third party Ethernet equipment vendors via an industry standard 10/100/1000Base-T interface.

WTM 3100 is simple to install and managed via in-band IP/Web based Craft Tool called ePortal. It offers local and network wide element management and SNMP for integration with higher level network management systems.

The WTM 3100 Antenna interface is compatible with the Aviat-Eclipse Slip-Fit Antenna portfolio.

The drawings in Figure 7 illustrate the WTM 3100 ODR and interfaces.

To create a bill of material for 1+0 ‘link’ one high band and one low band ODR must be ordered.

WTM 3100 ODR is form & fit compatible with Standard Eclipse Slip-Fit antennas and mounting arrangements.

The standard Eclipse antenna comes with pole/tower mounting hardware and enables the WTM 3100 ODR to attach directly to the antenna via a Slip-Fit connector. For antennas over 1.8 m (six feet) or dual pole antennas, the ODR(s) must be remotely mounted and connected to the antenna with waveguides(s). Most antennas are Class 3 ETSI approved with the exception of those made by Xian. These are class 2 and are generally unsuitable for Europe and the USA.

4.3 LICENSES WTM 3100 supports capacity licences and one feature licence. By default WTM 3100 comes with enabled 50 Mbps payload capacity and with no licensed feature enabled.

All licenses listed in Table 4-2 and Table 4-3 are specific to the WTM 3100 series and must be specified as separate line items at each order. Regardless of the configuration, the number of licenses must match the number of ODRs.

In the quote and on the SO, license needs to be specified right under the corresponding ODR line item, so that manufacturing uploads proper license to the desired ODR unit.

4.3.1 CAPACITY LICENSES Capacity licenses available for the WTM 3100 are listed in Table 4-2. A single capacity license is required with each ODR.

Requested upgrade licensees needs to be specified next to the affected ODR SN.

For deployed WTM 3100 ODRs, that require capacity upgrade or new feature license, please select Part Number from the upgrade options that are defined in Table 4-4 and Table 4-5.

4.4 POWER SUPPLY WTM 3100 can be powered either by POE injector or by -48 VDC power source over separate DC power cable.

NOTE: Supported PoE devices are specifically matched to the WTM 3100. Use of an alternative PoE device is prohibited unless authorized by Aviat product management.

At present 220V AC POE and -48 VDC POE injectors are supported on WTM 3100, +24 VDC POE injector is not fully supported and tested and can be quoted based on special, go to Aviat product management for more details.

4.6 SURGE ARESTOR

4.6.1 PROTECTING POE INJECTOR WTM 3100 ODRs and POEs are fitted with an internal lightning arrestor, additional lightning arrestor described in this chapter is optional accessory that can be used at areas with harsh weather conditions and frequent strikes.

The recommended arrestor for WTM 3100 is part number 074-310003-001.

This surge arrestor is suitable to be fit at building entry on inside and protect indoor equipment.

4.7 CABLES AND CABLE(S) INSTALLATION ITEMS Non-terminated cables are mainly provided in a limited number of fixed lengths but may also be ordered in custom lengths. They are shipped with connector kits and need to be assembled on the field.

Terminated cables are preassembled and available in several predefined lengths. Details are provided in the following sections.

4.7.1 PROTECTION CABLE FOR 1+1 HSB CONFIGURATION The ODR to ODR protection cable is standard Cat6 Ethernet cable and is proprietary crimped.

5 WTM 3100 CONFIGURATIONS AND ORDERING EXAMPLES

This chapter explains available WTM 3100 link configurations, their basic principles and shows recommended Bill of Material that is required to order equipment for a single link.

Supported configurations by the WTM 3100:

• 1+0, basic unprotected configuration • 1+1 HSB, protected Hot Standby configuration

Two powering options are supported on WTM 3100. Configuration is slightly different according to powering Configuration.

• Powering over PoE injector • Powering over Auxiliary -48 VDC power feed.

Items that need to be ordered to complete one link are shown on below Figures and further described with PNs in section 5.3.

5.1 1+0 BASIC NON PROTECTED LINK CONFIGURATION At this configuration, one WTM 3100 ODR unit is used per terminal. Unit is connected to the indoor PoE injector, optionally over surge arrestor that is installed at the entrance to the building. PoE injector is further connected to the ECD. The traffic between the ECD and the WTM 3100 is standard Ethernet / IP traffic. Maximum length of the Ethernet cable from ECD to ODR is 100 meters.

The WTM 3100 can be directly mounted onto an Eclipse Slip-Fit antenna or remotely mounted via flexible waveguide cable to the antenna. Below figures shows option with ODR mounted directly to Slip-Fit.

Grounding is provided via braid connection between WTM 3100 housing and a pool. (Shown by, the yellow connection “G”). Grounding lug is part of the ODR-IDU cable kit.

5.1.1 POWERED OVER POE INJECTOR In case ODR is powered with POE, all data (both user and network management) along with DC power to the WTM 3100 are supplied over a standard Cat-5e or Cat-6 weatherproof Ethernet cable (shown by the blue line).

Indoor connection between PoE injector and ECD is done with a Standard Ethernet Patch cable (Shown by, “L”).

5.1.2 POWERED OVER DIRECT -48 VDC POWER FEED In case ODR is powered with auxiliary -48 VDC power feed additional power cable is needed from -48 VDC power source to the ODR unit. All data (user traffic and network management traffic) are supplied over a standard Cat-5e or Cat-6 weatherproof Ethernet cable.

5.2 1+1 HSB PROTECTED LINK CONFIGURATION At this configuration two WTM 3100 ODRs are connected to a single antenna via Slip-Fit coupler to provide a 1+1 HSB link.

Each WTM 3100 is connected to the ECD either over POE injector or directly, optionally over surge arrestors that are installed at the entrance to the building.

The Protection interface on each ODR connects the two WTM 3100 ODRs together in a way that the two devices are able to swap health and status information between each other, to determine which WTM 3100 is the active terminal in the configuration.

The traffic type between the ECD and the WTM 3100 is standard packet traffic (e.g. IP). The maximum length of the cable and maximum distance between ODR and ECD is 100 meters.

The two WTM 3100 ODRs can be mounted onto a Back to Back Slip-Fit coupler with interface to single antenna or mounted remotely onto remote mounts and then connected via flexible waveguide to the antenna. Below Figure 5-4 shows option with ODR mounted onto Slip-Fit coupler.

Grounding is provided via the braid connection between WTM 3100 housing and a pool.

5.2.1 1+1 HSB POWERED OVER POE INJECTOR In case ODRs are powered with POE, all data (both user and network management) along with DC power to the WTM 3100 are supplied over a standard Cat-5e or Cat-6 weatherproof Ethernet cable (shown by the blue line). Indoor connection between PoE injector and ECD is done with a Standard Ethernet Patch cable.

5.2.2 POWERED OVER DIRECT -48 VDC POWER FEED In case ODRs are powered with AUX. -48 VDC power feed, additional power cable is needed from -48 VDC power source to the unit. 5.3 BOM FOR WTM 3100 CONFIGURATIONS Below Table 5-1 shows recommended configurations, quantities for parts and elements per link. For a single link two terminals are required one on each side of the link. Terminal can be either one ODR or two ODRs, depending on the configuration.

AC POE with CEE power cord and WTM 3100 standard cable kits for ODU-IDU connection are used under recommended BOM, Table 5-1.

In case configuration requires different POE injector, different AC power cord plug and different cable installation items as used under recommended BOM, refer to Table 5-2 and Error! Reference source not found..

Products marked with brown italic font should be accurately configured, according to guidelines in section provided under the description. When quoting and specifying equipment the exact Part Number & Part Description needs to be used and specified.
