What it doesThe radial crush tester measures the radial strength of a core, which is a critical factor for products that apply radial pressure to the core. The tester simulates the

loading conditions that the product applies to a core. The failure mode created by the tester is the same as the radial crush failure that occurs from customers’ winding operations.

Proven testing guidanceThetester’sPLCtouchscreenguidestheoperator’sinput and ensures each step of the testing process is completed properly. The radial crush strength is displayed in psi or bars. To ensure Sonoco’s commitment to safety, operation of the tester was evaluated by an independent safety consultant and subjected to a human factors engineering review. The radial crush tester includes an operations manual, which details everything from safety warnings and labeling to installation, troubleshooting, warranty and parts.
