Fake Health Insurance Marketplace Websites Be Wary of Official Looking Enrollment Websites To Verify a legitimate website, go to www.Healthcare.gov where all valid enrollment websites for each State are listed. 3. Medicare Scams If you currently have Medicare Coverage, you dont need to do anything to comply with the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) The government will never contact you by phone or email for personal information 4. Fake Navigators No one from the government will ask you for personal information, including health conditions or bank account information. If you dont know the person, dont give out any information 5. If you are not sure, take the persons name, phone number, the name of the company and then either go to the Healthcare.gov website or call their customer service representative at 1-800-318-2596 If the information is unclear or doesnt make sense, dont provide any personal information 6. Always keep the name of the person, the name of the company, their phone number, address, email and website If you do get assistance 7. Do Not Provide Bank Information or Credit Card Information You do not have to pay to apply for a Health Insurance Marketplace plan or to receive assistance from a Navigator 8. If You Suspect Fraud Report it to either the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-382-4357 or Healthcare.gov at 1-800-318-2596 9.
