Awabakal Wildflower Walk Activities Program Activities will be running continuously through the day. Check with the organisers on the day for up-coming tours and to book for particular activities. All activities are FREE. Please wear sturdy enclosed shoes. Awabakal wildflower walk with local guides. Approx 2 hour wander through the coastal dune heath with expert commentary and plenty of time to look around and ask questions. You are never more than 15 minutes fast walk away from home. Fabulous fruiting fungi with Gregg Heathcote, local mycophile and member of the Central Coast & Hunter Regional Fungal Network. Approx 1 hour to explore the fascinating but little understood world of fungi.

Bushland birding with Greg Little, bird ecologist and member of the Hunter Bird Observers Club. It’s always pot-luck with bird watching, but an hour in the woodlands and wetland will provide plenty of opportunity to see and learn about the common species and, perhaps, some of the not-so-common. Wonderful wetland walk with Graeme Prichard. Discover the ecological richness of wetland plants and animals with a 1 hour walk around Redhead Lagoon.

National Parks Discovery Ranger activities

Camera Quest: 10:30am- 12pm Enjoy the delights of nature and record your thoughts and feelings through the lens of a camera. Be led by a Discovery Ranger with a passion for photography; learn how to use the bush to inspire your personal, creative expression. Please bring your own camera.

Aboriginal Bush Art Activity: 12:30pm-2pm Bring the whole family and be inspired by the natural surroundings of Awabakal to create your own artwork. Try your hand at some Aboriginal painting and learn about the cultural significance of art from an Aboriginal Discovery Ranger.
