Description The Architecting Highly Available Applications on AWS bootcamp is designed to teach Solutions Architects how to leverage AWS infrastructure and services to build resilient applications. In this bootcamp, we discuss how to think about availability in the AWS Cloud so that you can design your applications for high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.

Course Objectives This course is designed to teach you how to:

• Understand how availability, fault tolerance, and scalability are related • Design for failure • Avoid single points of failure • Implement elasticity • Design loosely coupled architectures • Understand which AWS services have built-in fault tolerance and which ones can be designed for fault

tolerance • Consider availability when working with Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage

Service (S3), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Amazon Route 53, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, Amazon CloudFront, and Amazon DynamoDB

Prerequisites We recommend that attendees of this course have the following prerequisites:

• Familiarity with the fundamentals of Amazon EC2, Amazon EBS, Amazon VPC, Elastic Load Balancing, and Amazon RDS

• Background in either software development or systems administration • Experience with Linux (useful but not necessary) • Attended the AWS Essentials course or have equivalent knowledge
