MCOTRA Construction Specifications

Impellers:Breezax aerfoil blades are available in four typesof material:Glass Reinforced Polypropylene (GRP) whosechemical resistance is good when exposed tosome diluted acids and alkali, satisfactory with oilat normal temperature and good with variousorganics.Recommended max. Tip Speed = 1 05m!sec.Glass Reinforced Nylon (GRN), with greaterstrength and higher temperature capability.Recommended max. Tip Speed = ll5mIsec.Anti-static (GRN), whose main application is forinstallations defined as “potentially explosiveatmosphere” and where the risk of ignition of gasdust or vapours through sparking must beprevented.Aluminium (ALU), proven for use in emergencysmoke and fume extract applications up to 200°C.Recommended max. Tip Speed = lOOm/sec.

Production Range

Direct driven axial fans, with housing in weldedsteel, casing with double flange and impeller withadjustable blades in aluminium, GRP, or GRN.These fans are particularly suitable for theremoval of stale air, for ventilation, drying and forall those applications which entail moving largevolumes of air at low and medium pressures.ADTA fan sizes range from 500 mm up to 1600.

Air Performance

Air performance ratings of the fans described bythis catalogue have been derived fromperformance tests made with installation type “D”,with ducted inlet and ducted outlet.These tests were carried out in accordance withAMCA 210-99 standard (Fig. 12, for sizes up tosize 1120 and Fig. 15 above).Ratings are referred to the standard air density of1 .2 Kg/rn3.

Sound Power Level

Noise ratings are calculated starting from soundpower level measurements made in accordancewith the AMCA 300-96 standard, fig. 2D or 3D.The test results keep into consideration thepresence of the motor inside the fan.

Working temperature:-40°C to 70°C: GRP-40°C to 150°C: GRN-40°C to 200°C: ALU

Balance:All Nicotra axial impellers and fans are balancedaccording to lS01940 with grade G6.3

Hub SystemOur range of axial fans has fully adjustableblades and there are 5 hub systems, as shownbelow:
