FROM OUR PASTOR. . .

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. (From today’s Gospel at the 5 PM and 8 AM Masses) With Lent’s strong concentration on doing penance and recognizing our sin it is easy to lose sight of the message of today’s Gospel. John clearly reminds us that Jesus came to save us not condemn us. The emphasis of the Church during this season is our need for conversion. We need to turn away from sin and believe in the saving love of our God. It is this saving love of God that calls people to Baptism as in the life of our Elect – Lindsey. It is the same saving love that reaches into our lives and reminds us that God’s grace saves us as well. That is why we do penance not only in Lent, but also throughout the year – that we open ourselves to and make room for this saving love of God in our lives. Lent is a season of hope and joy as it leads us to the realization that our God loves us and saves us. God’s blessings to you all – Fr. Mark P.S. The Ecumenical Lenten Prayer Series continues this week on Wednesday, March 14th, at the UCC Church on Union street in East Troy. The Service begins at 7 PM and their new pastor, Pastor Teresa Howell-Smith, will be delivering the message.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS NOTE NEW TIME

Stations of the Cross will once again be prayed during Lent. Please mark your calendars for Thursdays at 3:30 pm in the church to join us.

Please bring a dish to pass. The prayer service is immediately following at 7pm. All are welcome and we hope to see you there! Any questions, call Suzanne at 642-7225 ext. 5

Healing Prayer— March 18 After the 8:00 am Mass This is a different ministry from our annual Anointing of the Sick. This Healing Prayer would be for any type of challenge you or a loved one might be experiencing. Although the reasons are as numerous as the stars in heaven, here are a few examples: struggling with a seasonal disorder depression, an ongoing physical illness or disability, an emotional form of bondage, such as anger, depression, grief, etc., an addiction that you desire to cease, but struggle to do so alone, a loneliness that has affected your peace, or feeling that your parental or spousal skills are lacking, a desire to be a better person. Anyone may attend and be in proxy (intercessor) for a one who could use prayers. It is written that prayer is one of the most powerful tools that one has to complete their mission on earth.
