Presented by: Prasad Tapkir , Abhishek Deshpande, and Abhishekh Daga Guided by: Prof. P.P.Hujare
GBS 40
Pitch = 1.2mm
PROBLEM STATEMENT CURRENT PRACTISE
Data Collected: 1st March ‘14
1. More Time Requirement for the manual process. (3 min/ring).
2. Stock Pilling3. Improper Quality Consistency.
DEMERITS OF CURRENT PROCESS
1. Patent on “ALUMINOUS ABRASIVE PARTICLES, A METHOD OF MAKING AND APPLICATIONS OF SAME”; Patent no: 0 503 598 A2 by NORTON COMPANY 1 New Bond Street, Worcester, MA 01615-0008(US).
2. “DESIGN AND MAINTENANCE CATALOGUE” – by VANAZ ENGINEERS LTD.
3. “DETAILS OF GBS 40” – by TATA MOTORS.4. Textbook of “FLUID POWER AND
APPLICATION” –by Anthony Esposito.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS
GBS- 40 is used in automotive synchromesh gearbox for smooth gear shifting.
The Grit Particles of Shot Blasting trapped in the Ring Threads are to be removed completely and automatically at faster rate. Manual System
TOOL DESIGN AND FEA ANALYSIS
The Automated Grit Removal process has achieved the planned requirements of improving productivity. The project thus would be used in actual production line of Synchromesh Ring. Thus the developed system could be considered as an innovation in the field of automotive technology.
