Love Lutheran Church – “Sharing God’s Love and His Promise for Tomorrow”Church Council Meeting: Wednesday May 16, 2018 6:30pmPresident’s ReportGrace and Peace…Since my last report, we have spoken to Sheila at United Churches of Algiers. Love Lutheran has been asked for additional support. While we’ve increased our monthly giving to $200.00 per month, (up from $100.00 per month last year) UCA still has needs that are not being met. I’m not suggesting any changes to our support, just laying out the facts for all to see. The Council will draft a letter to these congregations and the Board of Directors to see how we can better serve the needs of the folks of Algiers.The churches in financial support of UCA, are as follows:Holy Name of Mary Catholic, All Saints Catholic, St. Stephen Lutheran, Woodland Presbyterian, Love Lutheran, Asbury United Methodist, St. Matthew United Methodist, Algiers United Methodist, St. Philip Episcopal, Naval Support Activity Chapel, Olive Branch BaptistI have also suggested a meeting with the group, Young Life. They are a local and national organization that supports at risk youth. Something certainly worthy of our support. We’d like to invite the Westbank chapter over to speak to the Council and come up with some suggestions of support. Let us know what you think? Please pray for both these organizations.
