Grotto repairs fund has anonymous donor When we have reached donations of $27,500 toward our $37,500
goal for grotto repairs, an anonymous donor will donate the final
$10,000 needed for the repairs. The amount donated as of June 7 is
$21,684. If you are financially able, please consider donating toward
our goal so we can get our beloved grotto fixed and safe for all to
enjoy once again.
Help is available for seniors Eras Senior Network (formerly Interfaith) is a nonprofit agency
which provides various services for seniors. Through a team of
volunteers, they provide rides to medical appointments, the
pharmacy, or the grocery store. During COVID-19, they are making
wellness calls to check on isolated clients. Eras (Engage, Relate,
Advocate, Support) has provided supportive services at no charge
for older adults 60+ since 1991 based on the Neighborhood Outreach
Program model. For more information about their services in
Milwaukee County, call 414-488-6500.
Volunteer and put a smile on a senior’s face ~ Eras Senior Network
needs volunteers for various opportunities. Decorating birthday and
holiday cards for their clients is something that can easily be done
from your home. Another opportunity is driving their senior clients
to their medical appointments, the pharmacy, or shopping for
groceries. Please call 262-522-2402 to learn more about volunteer
opportunities to help seniors in our community. Volunteering is very
flexible—choose when, where, what, and how often you would like
to serve. Older adults are very grateful for the assistance!
We pray for all of our loved ones who are remembered in our Easter Memorials.

The Scriptures today remind us that “we, many though we are, are one body for we all partake of the one loaf.” How are we using our gifts of time and talent to build up the Body of Christ?
See 1 Corinthians 10:16-17.

Resiliency and well-being tips Experts say building resiliency helps with concerns
about health, family, and finances, among other
things. Resiliency is the ability to adjust in crisis to
ensure we can sustain over the long run.
Use of art to reduce stress ~ Creating art can help
support a sense of control, containment, and
centering during stressful times. Art provides a
nonverbal outlet to express thoughts, feelings,
concerns, and hopes during a time when words may
be difficult to find. Whether painting, sewing,
knitting, photography, or drawing, art can inspire
resiliency and provide a temporary distraction from
the stressors around you.
Here is a quick “scribble drawing” art activity you
can try: Close your eyes and randomly scribble on a
piece of paper for 30 seconds. Open
your eyes and turn the paper until you
see an image form within your
scribbling. Use additional colors to
develop your scribble drawing into
that image.
Meet the St. B & OLGH staff members Sister Jane Mary Lorbiecki, Pastoral Minister: Sister Jane Mary Lorbiecki is Milwaukee born and raised. After a few local moves, she lived in the home her dad built on Custer Avenue, and graduated from St. Nicholas and Messmer High School. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1965 and professed her first vows in 1967. Sister Jane Mary graduated from Mount Mary College in 1970 with a Bachelor’s in business education and a minor in English. In 1989, she earned a Master’s in Pastoral Ministry from Seattle University and continues to be educated through her life experiences.
Sister Jane Mary’s early ministry was as a high school teacher at Messmer, St. Mary-Burlington, and McDonnell Central-Chippewa Falls. From 1977 through 1986, she served as pastoral associate at St. Bernard Parish in Appleton, followed by three years in a similar role at St. Augustine Parish in Milwaukee. Turning to congregational service, Sister Jane Mary accepted the role of director of vocations, working at the Milwaukee Motherhouse and Elm Grove offices throughout the 1990s. In 1999, she ministered as pastoral associate at St. Mary Parish, Menomonee Falls, where Father Greg Greiten was pastor for 12 of her 19 years there. Sister Jane Mary now continues part-time in pastoral ministry for OLGH and St. Bernadette Parishes.
Sister Jane Mary enjoys her pastoral ministry of communicating with and visiting our homebound and assisted living parishioners and hopes that will be continued after this COVID-19 virus is not a threat. She enjoys reading, singing in choir, fishing, and traveling. Linda Radder, Parish Nurse: Linda has been with St. B for ten years. She has been a nurse for 40 years and loves it. She worked as an OB nurse at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center for 23 years, a case manager on an orthopedic unit at Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County for two years, and now as faith community nurse for Advocate Aurora Health Care for the past 16 years. Linda decided to become a parish nurse when she heard that she could be a nurse in a church and share about God and His love for us while being a nurse. She had never really felt free to do that as a nurse before, so was very excited to learn about the position. In addition to serving our community, Linda is also a parish nurse at Cross Lutheran Church, located at 16th and Walnut.
Linda loves to learn, so in addition to her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, she has a Master’s Degree and is licensed as a AGNP (Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner)—she can serve folks ages 13 and up. She is a licensed Substance Abuse Counselor, and will sit for her Marriage and Family Therapy License this summer.
Linda is the oldest of six children. She has a grown son, and a grandson who is almost 14. She loves to read, watch foreign films, take walks, or ride her stationary bike. She enjoys Chinese food, “small plate eating,” and a good glass of red wine. She looks forward to going to the Rep or the symphony and spending time with a few close friends. Most of all, Linda loves being a Faith Community Nurse—visiting the sick and homebound, providing health education, and helping people to live their best lives. She also loves volunteering at Bingo and Fish Fry.
If you have a health-related question or are homebound and would like a pastoral visit, you can reach Sr. Jane Mary at 414-352-1148, ext. 205, or Linda at 414-358-4600, ext. 158.
