Facilities security Maintaining the security of our parish and school facilities is a shared responsibility of all staff and all ministries/groups who use them. We ask that at the conclusion of your event, please be sure that all doors are closed tightly and locked, lights are turned off, chairs and tables are returned to their original placements, trash is taken to the dumpster, et cetera. A copy of our “Rules for Facilities Usage” may be picked up in the parish office for your reference, or contact the office to have them e-mailed to you. We appreciate your continued cooperation to maintain a secure and safe, clean and orderly facility.

All Souls Mass of Remembrance and reception Our parish’s annual All Souls Mass of Remembrance and reception will be celebrated on Saturday, November 1. Desserts are needed for the reception that will take place in the cafeteria after the Mass.

Remembering our beloved dead The Church celebrates November as a special time honoring the faithful departed. Parishioners are invited to bring a picture of their deceased loved ones to the parish at the beginning of November. These pictures will be displayed in the gathering area around the statue of St. Joseph, who is the patron saint of departed souls, where they will be remembered and prayed for. Please put your name and telephone number on the back of each picture. Pictures need to be collected by parishioners the weekend of November 22-23.

Please Remember in Your Prayers

Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Northwest Catholic School News National Young Readers Week ~ Our Lower Campus is participating in National Young Readers Week, which takes place November 10-14. We will celebrate it at our Lower Campus on Friday, November 14, from 1:00-2:00PM. Children will invite one special person to come to the classroom to read with them. Children who do not have a guest can join a friend and his/her special person. Cookies and cider will be available at 2:00PM for our guests.

We invite parishioners to donate gently used or new books. Books can be dropped off during normal school hours, 7:30AM-3:30PM at our Lower Campus office located at 7140 North 41st Street. We also invite anyone who is interested in being a guest reader to contact our Lower Campus. Some students may not have someone to bring that day, so having additional readers for those kids would make their day—and it’s a wonderful volunteer opportunity for you. If interested, please contact Lana Anderson at 414-352-6927, ext. 300, or [email protected].

2nd Annual Soles for Catholic Education Walk ~ Thank you for

supporting our school in the Soles for Catholic Education Walk. We

deeply appreciate your continued support. This weekend, NWC

School students, parents, and staff walked for Catholic schools,

gathering as a community to build awareness of the benefits of

Catholic schools.

Congratulations! The staff and students of NWC send our heartfelt

congratulations to Theresa Moniot Olivares, administrative assistant

for St. Bernadette Parish, who was married on October 18 at

St. Bernadette. We wish the happy couple a lifetime of happiness

and love!

October is Respect Life Month God sees each of us as a masterpiece of His creation. When God created each of us, He did so with precision and purpose, and He looks on each of us with love that cannot be outdone. Our mission is to show each person the love of Christ, especially in the little things, such as our interactions with the cashier at the grocery store, our spouses, children, friends, and even the people we encounter in traffic. Love and justice must motivate each of us to work for a transformation of our own hearts so that we can transform the world around us and bear witness to the greatest love story ever told. Tragedies, such as women to whom abortion is presented as their only choice or Down’s syndrome children who are never given the chance to live outside their mother’s womb, go directly against respect for life and they represent a direct threat to the entire culture of human rights. It is the mission of the Christian to always protect and uphold the sacred dignity of human life, from conception to natural death.

Fish fry date change Please note: The date for the November fish fry has been changed to November 14. Be sure to spread the word to your friends and family members who enjoy coming to our fish fry.

Catholic Stewardship Appeal update Through your support, the Catholic Stewardship Appeal raises funds for programs and ministries throughout our ten-county archdiocese. Holiday Craft Fair Calling all bakers! It is time again to get out your measuring spoons and cookie sheets and unearth your favorite recipes. The bake sale table is a popular highlight of the Fair. Every year the committee hears rave reviews of your home-baked goodies. Bakery can be dropped off on Friday, November 7, in the parish office from 7:00AM to 3:00PM or in the cafeteria from 6:30 to 8:00PM. You may also drop off bakery on Saturday and Sunday during the Fair.

Volunteer sign-up sheets are ready in the gathering area. Please give a little of your time to help make this event a success.

Thanksgiving food drive Club JMJ is sponsoring a Thanksgiving Food Drive. There will be a basket in the gathering area for donations from October 25 through November 23.

Jesus, the very thought of Thee with rapture fills my breast:

But sweeter far Thy face to see, and in Thy presence rest.
