    SPRING SEMESTER 2014

    PROJECT

    B-Tech (Pass)

This is a non-examination based course. Each student is required to work on a project within his or her chosen field of specialization. The entire project activity, starting from identification to the final stage of submission of report is to be completed within one quarter. The course carries a workload of 3 credit hours (standard). The nature of the course ranges from a purely field oriented activity at the one end to a theoretical, scholarly thesis at the other.

The project may be based either on field research or desk research, or both. Generally, field research requires heavier commitment of time and tasks to be accomplished at occasions that might clash with the normal office work schedule of students. Desk research on the other hand is relatively easier and time commitments may be scheduled by the student rather independently.

Some examples of project topics are shown here:-

    1. Current Market Structure for Ice Cream in Pakistan. 2. Promotional Strategies in the Tourism Sector. 3. Distribution Practices for the Textile Industry .. 4. Demand/Supply Analysis for the Home Furniture Market in Rawalpindillslamabad. 5. Current Wage Structures and Supplementary Benefits in the Private Sector. 6. Strategic Management Practices of Multinationals in Pakistan. 7. Motivational Incentives and their Impact on Employees in Pakistani Private

Companies. 8. Recruitment and Selection Policies and Practices in the International Agencies in

Operating in Pakistan. 9. Inventory Control Systems and Transactions in Sugar Industry. 10. Current Tax Structure and Its Impact on Accounting for Depreciation. 11. The Impact of the 1995-96 Budget on the Private Sector. 12. Cash Flow Management Practices in the Small Industries. 13. Commercial Lending Practices of Foreign Banks in Pakistan. 14. Loan Financing Policies and Practices of DFls. 15. Environmental Problems in the Oil and Gas Industry. 16. Customer Services Strategies for Commercial Banks. 17, Total Quality Management in the Hospitality Industry. 18. The Advent of Information Technology in Pakistan.

  • The students are at liberty to choose an appropriate project topic with the approval of the Teacher. The student performance is measured in terms of the progress made by the student on project activities during the quarter and by the quality of the final report.

Students will submit one draft copy of the report and three copies of the final report. One copy of the final report will be returned to the student after grading, while the other two copies will be retained for School records.

The teacher's role in this course will be to guide the students for accomplishing the goals and to advise them on research methods and on writing professional quality final report Much of this guidance will be individualized, therefore, students may meet the teacher by individual appointments for review of weekly progress and for seeking guidance.

There will be no mid-quarter or final examinations.

The final grade will be based on 100 points. The entire evaluation will be done at the School.

    SPRING SEMESTER 2014

    PROJECT

    B-Tech (Hons)

3. Distribution Practices for the Textile Industry. 4. Demand/Supply Analysis for the Home Furniture Market in Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

17. Total Ouality Management in the Hospitality Industry. 18. The Advent of Information Technology in Pakistan.

  • The students are at liberty to choose an appropriate project topic with the approval of the Teacher. The student performance is measured in terms of the progress made by the student on project activities during the quarter and by the quality of the final report.

Students will submit one draft copy of the report and three copies of the final report One copy of the final report will be returned to the student after grading, while the other two copies will be retained for School records.

The teacher's role in this course will be to guide the students for accomplishing the goals and to advise them on research methods and on writing professional quality final report. Much of this guidance will be individualized, therefore, students may meet the teacher by individual appointments for review of weekly progress and for seeking guidance.

There will be no mid-quarter or final examinations.

The final grade will be based on 100 points. The entire evaluation will be done at the School.
