GEM-SOL CoilGeneral DescriptionThe GEM-SOL coil is designed to be mounted on the "operator" to set up a solenoid valve. The coil, including its magnetic circuit, is encapsulated in high temperature resistant nylon to withstand humidity and heavy duty requirements.

NotesThe coil should not be energized without being assembled on operator. All GEM-SOL coils are designed to operate at 10% of nominal voltage. Our engineering department is able to design coils to any special requirement, they can then be produced in any quantity specified. GEM-SOL coils are suitable to work at 100% ED, however when energizing AC8W or DC10W coils for a long time, the temperature developed may affect solenoid seals. Please consult our technical sales department to get further information on the use of lower power coils or Viton seals. For outdoor applications or when the coil is exposed to high humidity, we recommend the use of impregnated coils. Please contact our technical sales department for specific requirements.

II 2 G Ex mb II T6 IP65 General DescriptionThe GEM-SOL Ex coil is designed to be mounted on a GEM- SOL valve. The coil meets the guidelines of ATEX 97/9/EC, EN 60079-0 and EN60079-18. The coil uses a pulse wide modulation system to reduce the power rating of the coil to about 1 (w) at holding.

NotesThis coil must be mounted on a GEM-SOL solenoid valve. It can only be used with the media specified for GEM-SOL valves. It is for use in: Explosion Group II, Category 2G, and Temperature Class T6. This coil must be protected against direct and other U.V. light. The type of protection used is Encapsulation Ex mb, by potting Epoxy. Certification: DEMKO 08 ATEX 143928X Use with DC GEM-SOL valves. GEM-SOL Operator 2/2, 3/2 WayGeneral DescriptionThe operator is designed to be assembled on a valve or a counterpart, to set up a solenoid valve. According to the operator and valve construction, all functional versions are possible: 2/2-3/2 way normally closed or open. The operator is mounted on all our solenoid valves. It may be used with alternating or direct current.

NotesOperator seat should be designed according to our specifications. Operator for DC is without shading ring and may not be used for AC. ADC operators and valves are suitable for use with AC 8W or DC 10W. When an order of an operator or a valve is without a coil, ADC operators will be supplied. When assembling coil, take care not to tighten nut excessively. Valves are inspected at general pressure of 12 bar. Higher pressures are available. GEM-SOL Direct Operated TYPE V & VL 2/2 Way, 3/2 Way NC, NOGeneral DescriptionGEM-SOL solenoid valves are designed to be mounted on a sub-base or on an appropriate counterpart adapted to this valve type. This version is suitable for mounting any number of valves on the same sub-base plate. Any combination of 2/2 or 3/2 way normally closed or open may be grouped together. The modular manifold design enables to achieve any manifold length.

NotesValves are inspected at general pressures of 12 bar or less (see tables). Valves for higher pressures are available upon request. Valves for pressure higher than 25 bar are less manual override. (For valves with pressure higher than 12 bar, please refer to section 5 on page 7.5). Baccara manufactures two types of NO valves: Supply pressure is through the base as in NC valves. These valves can be combined in a standard manifold. They are without manual override. Supply pressure is through the tube. These valves cannot be combined in a standard manifold. They are with manual override. When using a manifold with more than 8 stations it is advisable to use two air supplies, one at each end. GEM-SOL Proportional 2/2 Way NC Direct Operated ValveGeneral DescriptionThis valve is a 2/2 Way normally closed direct operating solenoid valve and is based on the GEM-SOL solenoid valve. It is used as a control valve in process control, medical systems etc.

Working PrincipleThe Solenoid Operator is used to create a magnetic force. The balance between this force and the returning spring at any current, is used to control the plunger stroke which determines the valve opening. The magnetic force is direct associated to the current passing in the coil. The fluid enters the valve below the seat. The fluid pressure together with the magnetic force acts against the return spring. Setting this spring will change the minimum current needed to open the valve, and by that, the minimum flow.

They can be used as NC, NO selecting or diverting functions. The valves are used in industrial and irrigation control and automation systems. These valves are suitable to work with air, water and oil; please consult with us if you need the valves to work with other fluids.

NotesValves are inspected at general pressures of 12 bar or less (see table). Valves for higher pressures are available. ADC valves are suitable to work only with AC 8W or DC 10W coils. GEVA 80 OperatorGeneral DescriptionThe operator is designed to be assembled on a valve or a counterpart to set up a solenoid valve. According to the operator and valve construction, various functions are available. The G80 operators may be used with alternate or direct current.

NotesOperator cavity should be designed according to our specifications, see drawing on the next page. Operator for DC is without shading ring and may not be used for AC. When assembling coil, take care not to tighten nut excessively. Valves are inspected at general pressure of up to 10 bar. Higher pressures are available, please consult our technical sales department.
